Description

Daysahead was founded by recent newlyweds guitarist/producer/songwriter Steve Wright & vocalist/lyricist/songwriter Kim Wright in 2003. Steve & Kim, aka Daysahead, is a duo on and off the stage which is a special asset to their musical chemistry. Imagine John Scofield and Cassandra Wilson married and jammin' with Led Zeppelin. That's the Daysahead sound.

Daysahead has performed with some of the best in the business: Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Gnarls Barkley, The Brand New Heavies, Patti Austin, Al Green, Gloria Gaynor, and many more.

Daysahead has performed at many weddings, festivals, clubs, corporate and private events including the Intwasa Arts Festival in Zimbabwe, Capital Jazz Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Capital Jazz Supercruise to Bermuda, New York Harborfest, Capital BBQ Battle Fest, Mobile Bayfest Music Festival, Richmond Fine Arts Music Festival, Berkshire Hills Music Academy, Maya Angelou's 80th Birthday Party, CNN, KWC America, BMW, PriceWaterHouse Coopers, Global Aviation Company to name a few.

The band has been featured live on several broadcast networks including CBS, CNN, TBS, Bravo TV, BET, and Zimbabwe TV Africa.

"Daysahead's sound is the combination of vocalist Kim Wright's impressive command of that indefinable voice that goes from gospel, to soul, to jazz and to rock in a seconds notice; and the dexterity of guitarist and partner-in-crime Steve Wright. Who knew such sounds, textures, and imagination could come from just six strings." (Rockwired)

Feedback

  • The experience was more than delightful. Our customers enjoyed the band very much and we received several requests for information regarding the band. If we ever have another event I will definitely use Daysahead and will also recommend them to others that are looking for a band. They were superb. -- Kelly J, Norcross, GA, 2/21/2008
  • Loved them. Have been getting many compliments for the "great band" at the reception. Wonderful talent! Can't wait to go see them in Atlanta soon. -- Sarah K, Chattanooga, TN, 7/1/2007
  • After researching and listening to several other bands we decided to hire DaysAhead for a private wedding reception. The minute I heard Kim’s voice and the music on their webpage (original music on myspace) I knew this was the perfect group! The music was phenomenal! Everyone could not stop asking us where we found them and that the music was perfect for the event, and they hope to hear them again soon! We were so very pleased (especially when Kim sang their original songs)! I look forward to hiring DaysAhead for our next event... and so should you! Although I can't sing, I am a true music junkie! Please know if you enjoy REAL MUSIC this is the band for you! I say, hire this band NOW because one day you might not be able to afford them! ;-) My only regret… they left before I got my DaysAhead CD! -- Vaughn R, Atlanta, GA, 6/2/2007
