Description
Skip has been playing solo piano for over 25 years in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. Among his longer jobs are a seven year, five night per week stint at the Norfolk Airport Hilton and a six year job at the Pavilion Towers Hotel in Virginia Beach. He has played at The Homestead, The Greenbrier, the Canadian Embassy and Nordstroms, just to name a few.
In 2001, he was selected to perform at the Presidential Inaugural Ball
with the Charles Darden Group as musical director.
While Lawrence Welk star Tom Netherton was at the Williamsburg Music Theater (2002-2004), Skip was his music director, leading an eight piece group. He still occasionaly will fly out to do concerts with Tom.
These days he stays busy with steady work at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club in Va. Beach and with his band, Skylark. (Available in anywhere from 2-8 pieces)
Skip plays a large variety of popular and jazz songs, along with some classical and country. Requests from guests at your event will be no problem as he also carries a library of over 5,000 songs on every job. If you desire a song he doesn’t already have, he’ll be happy to learn new material for your occasion

Feedback
- Skip Hancock is worth every single cent. We gave him a very difficult task in mixing jazz swing style into traditional wedding and religious music. This resulted in some of the best renditions of wedding music that I have ever heard in my life. His "jazzed" version of Trumpet Voluntary could easily be the new standard for bridal entrances - as everyone in our congregation loved it. His styling, professionalism, and flexibility makes him my highest pick for pianists from this point on. In fact, we are hoping to have another event that we can book Skip to come and play for. My spouse and I can fully -without ANY hesitation- endorse and recommend Skip Hancock. -- Benjamin K, Powhatan, VA, 9/3/2011
- He did a wonderful job and made our party a huge success. He entertained us on the piano and then accompanied all of us for a sing along. He was able to jump from one request to another and is very talented! Thank you! He was great! -- Becca M, Williamsburg, VA, 2/13/2010
- Skip did a great job with my wedding. He made it very easy for me and was exactly what we were looking for. Thanks again Skip I would recommend him to anyone I can. -- Nick V, Virginia Beach, VA, 11/28/2008
