About

Smooth, emotional, melodic, and sophisticated piano stylings that will entertain without overwhelming the listener. 35 years of experience playing oldies, love songs, standards, pop, light classical and smooth jazz. Seasoned professional has had experience in large and small venues, as a solo performer, and as a recording artist. From the great standards to timeless love songs, you'll enjoy an experience created specifically for your venue, according to your tastes.

As a professional pianist who has been playing since the age of 8, I've had a lifetime of experiences that have contributed to my role as a musician. By the time I was in Junior High I was the pianist for our church choir. A couple of years later I began teaching piano, and by the time I graduated high school I had a roster of 25 students per week. My first "band" was formed in high school, in which we tried to emulate the sound of groups like Chicago, Blood, Sweat and Tears, and Tower of Power. I put myself through college playing in club bands, teaching, and even doing classical music for a ballet school. After college I had a short career touring the northeast states with a college buddy, and finally settled in a career of music and creative arts as a director of church worship arts. I grew up not only loving the sounds of the sixties, seventies and eighties, but all the classic standards, love songs and show tunes that have stood the test of time. My piano style is a carefully crafted approach to playing that emphasizes elegance, melodic emotion, and entrancing harmony. I never let the technique overshadow the music. . . so the sound is always something that everyone can relate to, and even hum along. Playing piano is second nature to me, and of all the things I've done in life, it's probably one of the most enjoyable - and that enjoyment I'd love to share with you!

From a recent performance: "Ray joined us for a University 50th Reunion event. Ray set the mood in a perfect way. He was flexible in responding to the needs and wants of the
crowd. He was very professional and easy to work with and I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a high-quality musician!!" Megan Famular, event coordinator, St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia
