Description
James Woolwine is a solo pianist with a repertoire that is equally Classical and Contemporary. Beginning his studies at the age of 7 under acclaimed pianist Carolyn Victorine, and later Michael Sitton, James went on to earn the RVMTA merit scholarship in 1999 and 2000, and advance to the finals of the 1999 Virginia Lion's Club music competition. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, James has proven himself to be a versatile performer, playing for: rock band GB3, metal band Acrasjia, contemporary violinist Tai Cheri, gospel production Spigospera, the musicals "Godspell" and "Seussical", and numerous churches and weddings. Among his numerous solo performances were appearances at the prestigious Greene Memorial Fine Arts Series in Roanoke, Virgina, and the Music at St. Margaret's Concert Series in Annapolis, Maryland. Always progressing and expanding his repertoire, James strives to offer his clients a wide variety of the music they love at a negotiable price. He is always happy to bring his own equipment if a piano is not available on-site.
"Working with James for my wedding cocktail hour was great. He was very prompt and professional in his response to my messages. Just speaking with him a few times gave me the utmost confidence that he would deliver a fantastic performance, which he did. James really set the tone for an elegant evening. He will come highly recommended to my peers in search of musical talent for any event." - Dan D.
"I was very happy with your performance at my daughter's wedding. My family and friends enjoyed the music you chose as well as your piano skills. Your playing added to the festivities of the evening. We would certainly hire you again if the occasion arises." - Jane B.
"When our booked pianist disappeared a week before our wedding, I started to go into panic mode. Thanks goodness James came to the rescue. Not only was he available to help us on such short notice, he did the most wonderful job playing a varied selection of music to appeal to our guests. I would highly recommend James for any special occasion." - Caitlin B.

Feedback
- James arrived early to the event, giving ample time to get ready. He needed little guidance and performed well for our wedding ceremony. We would recommend him for other events! -- Haley G, Jaffrey, NH, 9/26/2010
- James was easy to work with. As a clasical pianist he graciously agreed to play Elton John and James Taylor songs for us. He arrived on time and worked with an out-of-tune piano being a pro that he was. His music enhanced our rehearsal dinner. I would recommend him to anyone. -- Nancy T, Nashua, NH, 6/5/2010
- We were happy with James. He went out of his way to learn extra songs to accomdate our mass and brought his own keyboard when what we thought was a piano turned out to be an organ. Overall we were very happy with James and feel comfortable recommending him. -- John J, Falmouth, MA, 8/21/2010
- This is the 2nd year we've hired James & have been very pleased. We look forward to continuing the relationship. -- Rebecca I, Woburn, MA, 12/2/2011

James was wonderful at the wedding. I had two special requests for the procession and the recessional. James already new the Beethoven 'Pathetique' piece I wanted, and he said that he was happy to find and learn 'Jerusalem' by Hubert Parry. He charged a nominal fee for buying and learning the latter piece, which I appreciated greatly.
The guests thought that he played beautifully, and really added to the atmosphere of the ceremony. Thanks James!
