This talented photographer is loving and kind, and finds beauty in every living creature, traits that are verified by the old saying,“children and animals love her.” and her nickname, the “Baby Whisper”. An artist from the tender age of five, photography was a natural extension. Rita honed her self-taught skills at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she learned studio management on the job as a studio manager from the time she was 16 until she graduated with a BFA in Photography (Portraiture). Her choice of specialty: fine-art portrait photography, permits Rita Coury to emphasize the unique and emotional/personal side of her subjects. Her objective with all of her photo art, no matter who or what the subject, is to capture the truth with minimal posing or manipulation and natural light.
