Description
AWARD-WINNING MUSIC! FROM BEATLES TO BUFFETT & FOLK TO POP!
When it comes to playing different styles of music, can one man really do it all? No, of course not. But Wayne Morrison comes very close!
Wayne Morrison is a seasoned, professional performer who plays a wide variety of music - from pop and rock to folk and Irish, as well as original compositions. Equally adept at playing a cocktail hour of beautiful classical guitar as he is blazing through a bluegrass banjo solo, he can sing an Irish ballad or launch into a classic rock tune! The choices are left to those who hire him. He is able to play solo, acoustic pieces alongside the ability to achieve a full-band sound. When the occasion calls for it, he's even been known to strap on an electric guitar for a few numbers!
Wayne was named the winner of the 2008 GigMasters Rising Star Award Winner for Top Folk Singer. He has played venues throughout the United States and in Ireland. These range from outdoor festivals, to harbor cruises, and pubs and clubs. Wayne has performed at parties, conventions and weddings too (either the full reception or the ceremony and/or cocktail hour as well as rehearsal dinners and parties). Hiring a one man band offers a great alternative to hiring a full band or DJ service. Featuring a large repertoire of over 400 songs and instrumentals that range from Buffett, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Springsteen and many other artists, Wayne Morrison has established a reputation as a highly reliable and crowd-pleasing performer. Themes, such as beach or Irish music, are specialties. Wayne can also perform bluegrass banjo music in a solo format by using bluegrass backup recordings against which he plays tunes like 'Dueling Banjos' or 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown'. When not performing solo, he is one-third of the bluegrass trio Looking East, playing banjo and guitar while sharing vocals. His CD, The Finish Line, features original compositions and songs by Dylan and the Beatles. Some samples of these original songs can be found under his name on MySpace. You can also purchase his CD at cdbaby, or sample individual tracks on iTunes and other internet distributors such as Amazon. Meanwhile, click the music icon above for some examples of solo and bluegrass music. Regardless of the event you're planning, Wayne Morrison can bring it to life!

Feedback
- Wow ... Our wedding was an absolute magical event and Wayne Morrison was a part of it all. He learned two new songs just for us, his timing was impecable, his voice heard but not over powering and he was a dream to work with. We would not only recommend him but we would hire him again. I highly suggest taking the time to hear some of his original work, its wonderful. Just ask him to play, "play me 'stairway to heaven'". -- Molly T, Newport, RI, 10/20/2007
- It was such a pleasure to work with Wayne. He was open to our ideas and very accommadating. I knew the music was one less thing to worry about. Our guests loved his range of music and we all thought he was fantastic!! -- Christine C, Plymouth, MA, 7/21/2007
- Wayne performed at our rehearsal dinner at Buskers in Newport and was wonderful. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He was most accomading and really got the crowd going allowing them to requests songs and even some sang. Wayne is a true professional and I can't rate him high enough he was wonderful and all my guests commented on what a great time he made the night! -- Megan O, Newport, RI, 7/14/2007
- Wayne was fantastic. He arrived very early as he said he would, and was ready 20 min before the scheduled start time. His equipment and sound were superior and did not cause any issues with neighbors, in fact they stopped by and joined us. He played a wide variety and took requests. He was the highlight of the party and if we have another big function we will certainally ask him back. -- Ed R, Holden, MA, 6/30/2007
- Excellent! He performed for a mix of people at a company Christmas party and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Many people asked where he played regularly. I'd highly recommend him. -- Deirdre W, East Greenwich, RI, 12/10/2006
