James Duchon

Please allow me to add a special touch to your event with music that can be soft, soothing and romantic or lively and fun. My song list is diverse. Although I was originally trained in classical guitar, I currently play music that spans from jazz to pop; From Beethoven and Mozart to the Beatles and Jobim. Furthermore, I also sing songs that range from Sinatra/Dean Martin standards to more contemporary artists like Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson. Whatever your occasion, I have the music to suit your needs.

I attained my bachelors degree in music education from the University of Toledo in Ohio. While pursuing my degree, I studied classical guitar under the guidance of Amy Brucksch (Dept. Director). I have attended National Guitar Workshop master classes in Connecticut that featured the amazing Sergio and Odair Assad, Antigoni Goni, and Nathaniel Gunod. I have attended the International Guitar Workshop at Stetson University in DeLand, FL where Oscar Ghilia performed and gave a master class. Also, I have taken private lessons from Jeff LaQuatra.

I currently reside in Edgewater, FL where I perform at many local venues. Recent gigs include: playing aboard the 70 ft. sailboat Schooner Freedom while under way in St. Augustine. I played at a VIP event at the Daytona International Speedway. I was also hired to perform as a singing telegram for the girlfriend of an overseas military officer. God Bless our troops!
