DESCRIPTION:
Like Nuclear fission, when the nucleus is bombarded to cause an atomic explosion, FAST LANE blends musical styles into an explosion of funky grooviness. The musicians come form diverse backgrounds, each in their own right is a master of their instrument.SLIMMI HEMPSTIX emerged from the Northeast in a full fury of musical ideas. He's been playing professionally since his formative years - sneaking in to play club gigs as an underageling. He has played with a wide variety of musical stars - Bernie Worrell, George Clinton, Parliament/Funkadelic, Bo Diddly, to name a few. His musical repertoire is impressive ranging from country to r and b to rock, but inherent is the deep down funkiness.....evident in his contributions to FAST LANE. FIVE is the fleet-fingered guitar god from southwest florida. Part Satriani, part Malmsteem, part Vai, but always tasteful. He can shred with the best of them, but his licks are always melodic, always tuneful. He hosts a local jam night in Gainesville, and has his pulse on the vibrant musical community......his guitar stylisms are important to FAST LANE. SHARK originated from Kentucky, but grew up in Marco Island and later Ocala. A rocker at heart, he also possess the soul of the true country singer. He has played with various artists, including Lou Reed, Bo Diddley, Marty Stuart and Montgomery-Gentry. His bass grooves are deep and funky. The groove is always on the move, to keep the audience moving all night....to the music of FAST LANE. EVILMAN studied music theory in Boston, wrote songs since he was a teenage, recorded music in his early twenties. He learned to tinkle the ivories under fire. His jazz comping lays down the background that moves the groove......of the melodies from FAST LANE. NASTY JOKER is the only native, in a band from Gainesville. A drum prodigy, he played his first gig when a band leader listened to the youthful Nasty Joker grooving away in his front porch. He has played for churches, jazz bands, r and b combos. He often the first call drummer for gigs around town. His afropercussive ideas is the engine that drives --------the FAST LANE!!! With FAST LANE, you get a full service entertainment group. We can provide our own PA system and lights, we can do double duty as a DJ, we can be the Master of Ceremonies for your event. We show up on time and work well with our hosts to insure the best entertainment possible, that way the host can concentrate on what's important..having fun..with FASTLANE!
