Description

BAGPIPES. . .the name alone conjures up visions of misty glens, deep lochs and mystical tales of the Old Ways. The bagpipes were a part of everyday lives of the Celts and their distinctive sounds were readily available to celebrate any special occasion. Let the wild music of the Highlands and the powerful skills of the Great War Pipes of the North make your special day even more memorable.

Donald B. Willis is piper to the clans Wallace and Lamont and Ritual Piper for the Scottish Heritage Association, Rowfant Club and English-Speaking Union. He is also a proponent of the 'Cape Breton style' of old-time community dance pipers.* A solo piper of extensive experience and repertoire, he has performed in every conceivable venue as varied as country Grange Hall dances, live stage performances with rock bands to entertaining Presidential candidates. He is also a closet old-time country fiddler.

*(All tunes performed in the old-fashioned "open" style of early dance-hall pipers.)

Donald is the author of three best-selling novels, 'Mystery of the Waterloo Bagpipes,' 'The Secret of Lightning Ridge' and 'Calvin Hemingway's Diary.'

Feedback

  • Donald did such a wonderful job at our function. He was polite, friendly and a wonderful bagpipe player. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to add that special touch to an event. -- Tess R, Cleveland, OH, 7/12/2006
  • My family, friends and I thoroughly enjoyed having Donald B. Willis perform at our party on Saturday, May 6th, 2006. He was more than excellent prior to the celebration in contacting me and making sure he knew exactly what I needed. He was extremely prompt and performed for us flawlessly. He made the party!!! We would definitely recommend him to anyone else who is looking for a bagpiper to perform at a function and we would also hiring him again in the future, should the need arise!!! -- Kristine M, Holland, OH, 5/6/2006
  • I miss understood the payment proceedure, having given my card number to Gig-Masters, I assumed that they were paying him from that. Evidently that was an error on my part--too crazy of a day as it was!!! Donald's graciousness and courtesy was a delight and a relief after a very, very stressful event. I have heard many pipers, and his skill was truly a pleasure! -- Monica A, Parma, OH, 11/19/2005
