My name is Tamar and I am a makeup artist, face painter, and henna artist. I have a separate Gig Masters profile for my face painting and henna, and this profile is all about traditional beauty and makeup application! Over the last 20 years, photography has improved tremendously! HD pixel technology has totally changed makeup because now imperfections can be magnified up to 6x! Traditional makeup application cannot compete with HD technology, but airbrush makeup can! I was trained in airbrush makeup application by MUSE beauty in Chicago. I offer three different types of makeup formulas: 1) Water - Water based makeup lends a lovely matte finish to print and television shots. It's gentle on skin and easy to remove! 2) Alcohol - Alcohol based makeup is waterproof, sweatproof, and smudge proof! It WILL last all day! The only downside to alcohol makeup is that it is 99% alchohol based, and constant use will dry out your skin. 3) Silicone - Silicone based makeup are becoming more popular. Silicone blends and has a similar finish to skin. Also, unlike water based makeup, it won't dissolve with water (ex: tears and sweat). The downside to silicone is that it is bio-accumulative, and not everyone in the cosmetics industry is a fan. Have you ever had your makeup done professionally and then found out that it will cost you another $25 for the lipstick? I have -- and I hate that! So, I keep sample sizes of my favorite lip colors available for my clients to buy! One $4 blister pack contains at least 5 lipstick replications - I've had some clients report that the blister pack lasted for a full week! I am incredibly particular about the lipsticks that I use on myself and on clients. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease as a child, and I have found that MUCH of the makeup products currently on the market contain all sorts of undisclosed allergens -- wheat, nuts, and sunflower being three of the more commonly found ingredients. As a result of my diagnosis, I ONLY use certified gluten free lipsticks on myself and on my clients. While the other makeup products that I use are not certified gluten free, I have researched the ingredients and feel comfortable that they do not contain known gluten.
