1. View online demos of as many magicians as you can. Most Illinois magicians on Gigmasters have one or more video samples of their magic shows available on their online press kits.

2. Thoroughly read previous client feedback. Many Gigmasters clients who have hired a magician have left useful feedback about their experiences.

3. Book early. Professional magicians in Illinois and throughout may need to be booked several months in advance.

4. Get a contract and read it carefully. Many professional magicians will also require a deposit in order to secure them.

5. Follow up with your magician as often as you need to. You should be sure to go over your specific magic trick requests if you have them. Some magicians do magic tricks which may not be possible to be performed at your specific venue.
