The Uptown Band featuring Erich Cawalla and Jenifer Kinder features some of the Northeast's most accomplished and seasoned entertainers. They have been awarded Gigmasters' Rising Star Award for the #1 Top-40 Band in North America and the 2012 Best of Gigmasters. Able to play virtually every kind of music possible, the band can perform for any occasion including weddings, conventions, festivals, and all other public and private events.
Some of their more notable accomplishments include performing at the PA Vision of Hope Gala for former Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge, working opposite Comedy Central's Jeff Dunham at a sold-out Luhrs Performing Arts Center, and being one of three acts chosen to play at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building's Centennial Celebration. Individuals in the band have played with numerous celebrities including Marie Osmond, The Skyliners, Joe Nichols, and Martha and the Vandellas to name a few.
The group features an exciting rhythm section, horn section, and the extremely talented vocalists, Erich Cawalla and Jenifer Kinder. Besides being partners on-stage, Erich and Jenifer are also real-life partners off-stage and got married in front of over 1000 surprised fans in June 2010 at a hometown concert. Each performance includes significant audience interaction, and because of the diversity of the band's immense songlist, there is something for everybody to enjoy. "AMAZING! If you are looking for a great band... not just a run of the mill wedding band, hire Erich Cawalla and the Uptown Band. We heard from a lot of guests both during and after the wedding how amazing they thought the band was. We opted for 2 horns instead of one horn because of the song we chose for our first dance, and wow was it worth it! Honestly, we expected them to be a great band based on all the reviews, and they went above and beyond our expectations, it was the best band we had ever heard at a wedding. The whole experience in working with Erich Cawalla was great, and he was more than accomodating... the uptown band MADE my wedding phenomenal Thanks"

"When we decided to have a band for our daughter's Nov. 8, 2008 wedding, we checked with Gigmaster and found out about the Uptown Band. We were anxious about selecting a band. However, once we came in contact with Erich Cawalla, our concerns were quickly relieved.
Erich worked with us in order to see the Uptown Band perform. After we heard the band, our minds were made up! Erich worked with us to create a lovely, fun and exciting evening for the bride and groom, as well as, all the guests.Erich quickly responded to our phone calls and emails. Erich and the Uptown Band are extremely talented, accomodating and friendly. I stronly recommend the Uptown Band! "

"It is a true pleasure to recommend the Uptown Band. You will not find an easier or more dedicated band to work with. Erich and I hit it off from the start. He listened to everything we wanted and provided his professional opinion for what would work best for our wedding. He provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception flawlessly. My husband and I loved every minute/every song. It was just perfect! Everyone danced! My guests raved how great the band was - not too loud - not too thumpy - very entertaining and they were blown away by Jennifer's voice and the musical talent of the guys. It was the best day ever! "Uptown band impressed us by how very helpful, accommodating and flexible they were. And although they sounded good on the website, in person they are even better and far exceeded our expectations. We warned them that we had a very lively dance crowd, and they were more than up for the challenge. They read the crowd and matched the energy the entire evening. Our guests were extremely impressed by their musical talent, and they were a joy to listen to and interact with.
If we were getting married again, we'd go with them in a heartbeat. You won't find a better band than this, and you can't beat their price.

"The Uptown Band was absolutely fabulous. Even though the food was exceptional, the accommodations by the personnel at the venue were outstanding; we received more compliments on the band than any other aspect of the wedding reception. From the cocktail hour through every event that occurs during a wedding reception, Erich was an absolute professional and the band was tremendous. The instruments and the vocals were second to none and a special kudos to Jenifer whose voice is just incredible."

"My wife and I hired the Uptown Band to play our wedding reception. They learned our first dance song and a song that I played with the band for my wife. I spoke with Erich often leading up to the event and he made sure that all the details were organized for our big day. They were extremely talented and impressed everybody at the party. People were dancing even before dinner. This band is worth every penny and I would hire them again without hesitation. Book them early!"

"THE BEST band we have ever experienced at any reception whether wedding or otherwise. Every single guest of all ages (18 to 80) that came up to us after the wedding said that the band was the best they have ever seen. They are more than a typical wedding band – they are true performers. Erich was very easy to work with over the months before the wedding and we were impressed at how well they learned and performed our first dance. Both singers have great voices and the whole band was made up of great musicians. "We were happy to find the perfect band for our wedding. They really kept the party on the dance floor (even skipping a set break) and appealed to a diverse crowd. Erich did a great job as MC and kept the flow moving with music. We gave them some speical song requests just a few days before the wedding and they were able to perform them with ease. They have a great sound, and are very professional and easy to work with. This was one of the best investments we made for our special day! "For our annual event we have in the past used another agency and in 18 years of this event, Erichs group has been the best. We had 70 people in attenance, all ages, and everyone was dancing havng a great time for every dance. I am a country club manager, and book bands to round out a 50,000 dollar entertanment budget, (at my regular job ) so I can compare with a certain expertise and I recomend this band enthusiastically. "Erich and the rest of the band did a fantastic job!! Erich was professional, effcient, and a pleasure to have as a vendor at my wedding. Erich made the pre-wedding work easier with his easy-going attitude and prompt responses. At the wedding, Erich took initiative to make sure the evening went smoothly for us, and did a good job in 'reading' the crowd. As for the music, the band was right on. Having very talented live band makes a big difference for the atmosphere of an event. They walked the fine line of 'drawing in' the crowd, but not being too much for them to handle.
