DESCRIPTION:
The Mustangs with Elstan Gunn, perform the most sought after Johnny Cash Tribute Show in the midwest. When you listen to Elstan's voice, you will hear why he is in such high demand as Johnny Cash. The band is comprised of award-winning country musicians, including Terrie Lea who sings several duets with Elstan that Johnny sang with his companion and soul mate, June Carter Cash. This show is not just a random collection of Johnny Cash songs, but a carefully crafted production taking you through his entire musical career. The idea for the Johnny Cash Tribute Show came from the many performances of Terrie Lea and the Mustangs, which include several Johnny Cash songs and some June and Johnny duets. The audience reaction and comments were such that we realized people wanted more of this; and we had the personnel to do it right. In addition to Elstan and Terrie, our guitar player, Al Carmichael, is one of the top guitarists in the state, winner of Rockin-the-D guitar contest, and composer of a #1 country hit. The band is rounded out by drummer Bruce Bedford, bassist Chris Brown, and fiddle/guitar player Janel, who have all been nominated for, or are recipients of, Detroit Music Awards. The Mustangs have been performing together for more than 8 years. Audiences of all ages love Johnny and June Carter Cash, and even after their passing, they remain two of the most loved performers across the globe.
