Jay Holcomb Frost moved to Washington DC in 2012 from Seattle, WA, where he had been actively involved in the local music scene. Over seven years of living in the city, he played in several restaurants, cafes, churches, and retirement centers in addition to many weddings and private parties and occasionally on Argosy Cruises. For over a year and half he played in a rock and roll cover band, and later started hosting house concerts and leading his own Jazz Trio.

In 2005, Jay produced his first album, called Save It for a Rainy Day, comprised of 12 original compositions.

In 2012, Jay and his wife Tessa (voice) produced Soulshine, an album of original inspirational songs. Together they have performed at many church services and at the Annual Meeting of the Christian Science church in Boston, in addition to appearing from time to time on TMCYouth.com.

He has recently been taking lessons from acclaimed jazz pianist Randy Halberstadt.
