Bio-Adam Wines is a Professional Jazz, Rock, and Classical Guitarist from the Washington D.C. area. He currently resides in Bowie, MD where he records and teaches in his in-home studio, only 30 minutes outside of D.C. He also performs regularly with his band The Adam Wines Group and as a sideman in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore area. Adam started his musical journey at the young age of 11 when he picked up the alto and tenor saxophone. He showed incredible musical talent right from the beginning, and his early mentor Alan Oresky rightly predicted that he would grow to be a professional musician. Adam studied classical and jazz music through his young school years, but at age 15 he became captivated by the guitar. He soaked up the local hard rock and heavy metal scene around him and taught himself the guitar. When Adam entered his twenties he began to study the guitar formally, and was introduced to Pat Metheny and Wes Montgomery. He was forever changed by their musical influence, and dived headlong into the challenging world of jazz guitar. In 2009 he auditioned to Towson University's music program and was accepted. Here he studied with jazz greats such as Steve Herberman, Tom Lagana, Jim McFalls, and Tim Murphy. He also studied classical guitar with Troy King. He progressed very rapidly, and was able to make a living teaching and gigging his second year of the program. Adam was even exclusively chosen to be a part of acclaimed saxophonist Walt Weiskopf's rhythm section when he held a master class at Towson University. In 2013 he graduated from Towson University's music program with a Bachelor's in Music in Jazz/Commercial Guitar Performance.
