Carol Steffens/Wasatch Jazz Project Big Band Jazz Band from Salt Lake City, UT

Wasatch Jazz Project Big Band consists of some of the finest musicians in Salt Lake City, including a male and female vocalists. We have been playing the bag band dance concerts at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City on Tuesday evenings the past two summers and are scheduled again this summer of 2015. We also played the Utah Arts Festival 2014, Deer Valley last summer, the Salt Lake International Jazz Festival and other private parties, weddings and venues. There are 19 of us…yes that's a lot, so we can work with anyone's budget!! A lot of people think a big band just plays old music. Not us! We do play all the great jazz standards from the 30's and 40's for dancing, but also, over the past twelve years, I have built our song library to include popular songs that people recognize in rock, funk, and latin big band styles. Just to name a few….”Rolling In The Deep”, by Adele: ”Happy”, from Despicable Me: “September”, by Earth, Wind & Fire: “Man In The Mirror” and other Michael Jackson songs, and songs of Chicago, The Beatles, Tower of Power, Sting, Billy Joel, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Sinatra, and more.
