Description
I play all the traditional wedding music including bridal marches, ode to joy, canon etc as well as many other non traditional choices. I can do a ceremony on classical guitar and/or a cocktail hour playing jazz or any combination thereof. Versitility is my specialty.
I play a self-invented 9 string guitar on which I can play music unavailable to 6 or 7 string players and with a much fuller sound than ANY other solo guitarist. Mainly a jazz player, performing solo arrangements of Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, etc; I can also include virtuoso classical guitar pieces such by Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, etc; pop tunes by the Beatles, The Yes Band, etc; and Atkins style arrangements by Chet, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, etc. This mix is very entertaining and exciting at any event. I have issued 7 CD recordings; have been featured in many music industry magazines such as Guitar Player, 20th Century Guitar, Fingerstyle Guitar, Just Jazz Guitar, Cadence, Coda, etc; and have performed on several local and national TV and Radio shows.
I am a regular performer at the Classic American Guitar show, The Philly Guitar show, The Chet Atkins festival in Nashville, the winter NAMM show to name a few national events. I am always willing to work with my customers to give them exactly want they are after at their own event. I have performed with jazz greats such as Charles MaPherson and the legendary LES PAUL.
Please check out a live television performance of "Tiger Rag" on youtube (type in michael coppola)

Feedback
- Michael played at our wedding at Bouley Restaurant in NYC this past May. His playing was perfect for the occasion, and we would definately recommend him to anyone looking for a virtuoso guitarist.
I had seen Michael play at a guitar festival in the New York area weeks before the wedding--he has an amazing technique and very strong musicality. His 9-string guitar is fascinating. For the wedding, he was able to adjust his tone to the wedding reception, and read the room very well.
Thanks Mike! -- Jason N, New York, NY, 5/26/2007
- Michael is a talented professional. The music at our wedding ceremony was beautiful and he showed patience when dealing with a disorganized, frazzled bride. I highly recommend him. -- Jennifer L, Middletown, NJ, 8/8/2009
- Michael was very accommodating, played beautifully, and was extremely helpful in selecting the appropriate songs for our wedding. We received many pleasent comments on his playing from our guest. Good choice! -- Maureen S, Simsbury, CT, 5/22/2011
