Description

Are you looking for top-quality live jazz for your wedding reception, office party, or special gathering? The Matt Dinsick Machine is a New York-based jazz band that is perfect for you, whether you're looking for world-class, improvised music worthy of a serious listening session or simply the best live, acoustic musical background. Unlike many other bands, we don't perform other kinds of music on our gig, like disco, rock & roll, or current pop tunes. Instead, we pull our inspiration from the great jazz combos of the 50s and 60s and our repertoire from the best jazz and latin-jazz standards. We believe jazz is one of America's greatest cultural institutions, and we're dedicated to preserving the spirit of group improvisation for audiences to enjoy.

No gig is ever treated the same way, because today is not yesterday, and neither one is tomorrow! Matt works closely with the client, whether scouting the performance space, selecting the tunes or working out the scheduling of the event. This ensures that each performance is unique, seamless and to the client's needs. Moreover, the members of the band are all up-and-coming young performers educated by some of the finest artist/teachers in the area and have years of professional experience, which guarantees music of the highest quality.

We don't really play weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, engagement celebrations, family gatherings, office parties, corporate events or birthdays. We actually perform live jazz concerts that take place at those events. Our clients appreciate the fact that we play with spirit and soul, because as jazz musicians, we truly love what we do!

The core of our swingin' group is the trio of piano, double-bass and drums, and the full group adds tenor saxophone to make a quartet. As per client's wishes, we have also included trumpet and a female vocalist in the past, and we are always happy to perform in whatever format the client asks for, so if you have a special instrumentation you'd like to perform, just ask! We're also capable of performing in a wide variety of situations, so if you need us to provide, say, ceremonial music for your wedding ceremony followed by straight-ahead jazz for the reception, we can swing that!

Please contact Matt Dinsick today if you'd like rates or any other info about hiring us for a performance. You won't be disappointed!

Feedback

  • Matt and his band did an excellent job at my engagement party. I will definitely call Matt again and will refer him on to friends for sure. Thanks Matt, you guys did a fantastic job... good luck. Vik -- Vikram V, Manalapan, NJ, 9/3/2006
  • I would whole-heartedly recomment this group to anyone! They truly made our party. Every thank you note included compliments on the wonderful music. They were prompt, courteous, professional, friendly, and very very talented. It would be a dream for me to have them play in my home every evening! As this is not possible, I will look forward to having them again for our next event. -- Nancy B, Glastonbury, CT, 10/28/2006
  • We hired the Matt Dinsick Machine for our wedding, and we would give them more stars if we could. The band was absolutely AMAZING and dealing with them was an absolulte dream. The members of the Matt Dinsick Machine are amazingly talented musicians, and this is coming from two music snobs! We would highly recommend them to absolutely anyone, and are hoping that they will do a public gig so we can see them again. They will greatly improve anything you would hire them for, be it a wedding, corporate gig, or even a nightclub gig. We've been to "events" where they hire "jazz" bands, and have gone to some of the best jazz clubs in NYC, and we can honestly say these guys blow away any band we've ever seen at any event, and if these guys played a regular club gig, we'd be there every week. We can't stress to you enough how great this group is. The songs online don't do them justice, and those tracks are great. They absolutely nailed everything. I wish we recorded the performance. That's how good they really are. Don't make a mistake, make sure you hire the Matt Dinsick Machine. Marisa & Junior -- David S, Belmar, NJ, 9/24/2006
  • I went on-line to find a 3 piece band for our daughter's (after the fact) wedding reception that would be a "festive/holiday cocktail party" venue. I was able to listen to Matt's music on-line and knew it would work. Plus, he was SO REASONABLE$ He's communicative, honest and on time. Our event was held in early Dec. in PA and we had a tent off of an historic Inn. The heaters weren't "hardy enough" so folks weren't out there as we would have hoped. Matt...I hope your feet have thawed! Their music was terrific, they made sure to play our requests (which included "jazzy" versions of holiday music) and played favorite songs over again upon request. A+!! -- Kim W, Holicong, PA, 12/3/2011
  • Matt and his group were absolutely terrific at my birthday party! They were very easy to work with, very flexible and accommodating of special requests, and the quality of the music was extremely high. I lost count of the number of guests who came up to me to tell me how great the music was and where I found the group. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to hire them again for another occasion! -- Mark D, Scarsdale, NY, 5/19/2012
  • We were very pleased with their performance. They looked and sounded great. Just what we wanted for our event. -- Louis B, East Meadow, NY, 5/20/2012
