James Hammel is an adult contemporary singer, guitarist and songwriter performing jazz and standards with Latin influences, pop/rock, as well as originals. He has emerged on the music scene over the last two years following a career as a business leader and CEO in the business world. Listeners often compare him to Chet Baker (sexy crooning), John Pizzarelli (energy and guitar work) and Sting (intensity). James performs solo or with his band which may include piano, bass, drums, and brass. Depending on the event and venue there may as many as eight musicians including background vocalists, percussion, brass, and strings.
The focus of the act goes from playing James' arrangements to many class jazz standards and select adult pop songs
