DESCRIPTION:
Endowed with a clear, beautiful voice, a sure sense of swing, and a seemingly innate sense of the nuances of jazz phrasing, Hale Baskin performs in three formats: Guitarist or pianist for an intimate party setting, an expandable trio for larger dance parties or a swinging 13 piece orchestra for the true big band sound.Check out Hale's music samples and decide which style would be best for your event. "Contemporary Jazz" sound can be achieved with Hale's five piece band. "Big Band" is performed with her thirteen piece ensemble which includes a male singer for Sinatra type numbers. "American Songbook" selections can be played with a trio or quartet. Depending on the event and budget, Hale Baskin Jazz Ensembles has a band to fit the occasion. Hale's performances are electrifying and unforgettable. She has won three DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards (most recently for "2007 Best Jazz Vocalist" in the high school division). Twice shared the stage with legendary trumpeter, Arturo Sandoval as guest vocalist. Twice performed at the "Montreux Jazz Festival" in Switzerland. Has been performing with "first call" SF Bay Area musicians since the age of 12. Recorded two full length CD's; the latest, "Classic" will be on sale in December 2007.

Hale and her band are great performers. The song selection was excellent and they were flexible, playing a specific arrangement of a song for our first dance. What a great performance! All ages enjoyed Hale and her band. We had a great time and the party really picked up once Hale took the stage. I will recommend Hale to everyone. The manager got everything and everybody ready to go. The assembled group had not all played together before, but they did a fine job. They also "backed up" Hale nicely for her vocals.
Hale is a very promising young talent and was clearly in charge of the musical presentation.

We were delighted with Hale Baskin's performance at our wedding. Hale and her band provided exactly the kind of laid back elegance we wanted. She pleased the jazz purists (like me and my Dad!) and who wanted to hear jazz in the Ella Fitzgerald tradition, and also the family members just who wanted to boogie on down.
Hale's band are consummate professionals, capable of playing a wide range of musical styles and above all showcasing Hale's talent. Hale has a great future, and we will be following her career with interest.

Hale was a great performer! She is immensely talented, and provided a wonderful performance for our 60th birthday party.
