Dan Heath with the Paradise Band is a seven-member ensemble ideally suited for high-class weddings, corporate events, festivals and county fairs or class reunions. If your group likes ballroom dancing, Dan Heath with the Paradise Band will perform fox trot, swing, waltz, latin and other dance step tunes for your dancers. All musicians are highly trained and educated with great experiences in music performance. Dan Heath is an extraordinary vocalist who can cover a number of musical genres from Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, the Beatles, Elvis, jazz and pop standards and even Broadway show tunes. He has created two CDs which sold well in the Fort Wayne area and raised thousands of dollars for charity. Some of his recordings were aired at 106.3 FM and also at the local NPR jazz station. In 2006 Heath was selected as a semi-finalist to compete against some of the best vocalists in America and the world at the Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Competition. Steve Walley is a well-known pianist and arranger in the Fort Wayne area with a Master's Degree in music. Steve is an Adjunct Professor at the IPFW School of Music. The guitarist is Robert Ferguson who also has his Master's Degree in music from IU. Robert has been a Fort Wayne area guitar instructor for decades. Robert is a classical guitarist by training but is able to cover many genres of music from classical to jazz and rock. Terry Vaughn supports the very fine rhythm section of the ensemble as one of the very finest drummers in the midwest. Brad Kuhns, a bassist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, also adds his great talent of the band. The sixth position with the band, the clarinet or sax position, is filled by David Blackwell, a fabulous sax/clarinet player who holds his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Education from IU. The final, seventh position of the ensemble, the trumpet position, is filled by our very fine trumpet player, Alan Parr. Al received his degree in Jazz Education and Performance at California State University, Los Angeles. Over the past seven years Dan Heath with the Paradise Band have played at literally hundreds of venues including the Grand Wayne Center (Fort Wayne) for "Dancing with the Fort Wayne Stars," the Dayton Art Institute's Annual Gala, "Friday Nights Live" at Jefferson Pointe (Fort Wayne), Chicago's East Bank Club, and Huntington University's Homecoming Dance just to highlight a few events. Dan Heath and the Paradise Band performed for the Inaugural Auburn 'Concours d'Elegance' at the Kruse WWII Museum 'Meadows' as a part of the huge Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival(Sept.4, 2005)and for many subsequent events for Kruse International. Dan Heath with the Paradise Band has also performed at many Fort Wayne area festivals including Canal Days, Hoagland Days, the 3 Rivers Festival and the Delphos, Ohio Rotary Summer Concert Series, Columbia City's Old Settler's Days, and the New Bremen, Ohio, Parks Department Summer Concert Series. In July of 2007 the band was one of only six area bands asked to be a part of the prestigious Honeywell Center's "Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series." In July of 2006 the band performed as a part of Club Soda's "Rat Pack Series" which was sponsored by the Downtown Improvement District (DID) of Fort Wayne. The band also performs for many area retirement parties, weddings and events at the Fort Wayne Summit Club and the Fort Wayne Marriott. The summer of '07 took the band into festivals in Ohio and Michigan. Early in 2009 the band was asked to perform for "Casino Night" at the campus of Ohio State University for Alpha Tau Omega and Ohio State Football Coach Jim Tressel to raise funds for cancer research. The band will perform at "casino night" at Ohio State again in 2010. The band has also reached into Kentucky and Chicago over the years as well. Dan Heath with the Paradise Band is the band for you!

• We had Dan Heath with the Paradise Band perform at our wedding reception. The night was wonderful. There were people on the dance floor throughout the evening and everyone had a wonderful time. The keyboardist provided the music at the ceremony and all of our guests were delighted with his work. We would highly recommend this band. They are talented, courteous, and skilled with a crowd.
