Description

Terry Foster has been entertaining jazz lovers in the Atlanta area for 20 years with the Atlanta Blue Notes (a 19 piece big band), Crosstown Jazz combos, the Bill Snyder Quartet and now with her new group, About Time (for Jazz!). This group can expand as desired from a duo up to seven pieces. The instrumentation begins with Terry on flute and sax and adding guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, brass and vocals. About Time (for Jazz!) plays straight ahead jazz standards with the smaller combos through a variety of styles; light rock, latin, pop, swing, ideal for all kinds of events and parties (weddings, corporate parties, commitment ceremonies, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries, etc). The musicians are all classically schooled and can also provide wedding ceremony music (light classical) with flute and guitar or flute and keyboard.

A music performance major in woodwinds, Terry plays flute, alto flute, alto, tenor and bari saxes and clarinet. Separately and together members of About Time (for Jazz!) have performed all over the metro Atlanta area; at the Capitol City Club, Country Club of the South, Pine Tree Country Club, Marietta Country Club, Georgia Aquarium, Fernbank Science Museum, 57th Fighter Group Restaurant, and Maggianos in Buckhead to name just a few of their venues. The group is based in the metro Atlanta area.

Feedback

  • Terry was awesome! She met with me a couple of months prior to the wedding to assist on deciding what songs to perform. She even played the flute on the phone for me, so I could hear how lovely it sounds. She really helped make our wedding day special. We can't thank her enough! Emmanuel and Kelley Benson -- Kelley Staples, Atlanta, GA, 7/16/2009
  • First of all the Gig Master website was really easy to navigate. Being from another city and state this made it so easy for me to find a jazz trio. Terry Foster was great to work with and the group sounded great. The event was held at Canoe restaurant which is a lovely place to begin with but the music that About Time 4 Jazz played really added to the whole evening. I highly recommend this group. -- Tammy Hill, Atlanta, GA, 7/24/2009
  • About Time For Jazz was the hit of our Derby Day party ............I cannot wait to hire them for our next function. I would recommend Terry and her gang to anyone seeking music for their party or venue. Terry is an amazing flute and sax player, and it was a joy to welcome her into our home................... -- Steve Barnwell, Atlanta, GA, 5/2/2010

  • About Time (for Jazz!) was absolutely wonderful. They sounded wonderful and everyone at my wedding commented on how great they were. I would recommend then to anyone needing live music!!!! -- Cassie Long, Flowery Branch, GA,
  • This is a very talented band that was very professional, reliable, and easy to work with. They played during the cocktail hour of my wedding reception, which was held in a museum. They really added an air of elegance to the event and everyone talked about how good they were. Plans changed a little bit during our the wedding planning process and they were also very flexible with that. Highly recommended. -- Mary Ellen Archer, Cartersville, GA, 8/9/2011
  • Terry and her Trio was exactly what we were looking for and more. Throughout the event I heard noting but great comments; not only for our choosing a Jazz ensemble but at how wonderful this trio was. I would recommend highly them and they are on my list for future events. -- Mary Piper, Fayetteville, GA, 11/6/2011
