The Turnaround Jazz Trio & Quartet

The Turnaround plays jazz standards, ballads, bebop and bossa nova. We are a professional ensemble featuring piano, upright bass, jazz drums and tenor saxophone, and are available as a quartet or a trio. We are musically versatile and can also play other styles like Latin jazz, blues and soul-jazz; an additional vocalist is available on request.

We pride ourselves on our professionalism and the quality of our music—-we are always on time, always well-dressed, and always in tune! Our band is easy to work with and we try hard to accommodate all the needs of the event and the client. Excellent references are available.

We have extensive experience in weddings, corporate events, gala occasions, private parties and fundraisers. Our group has played at the Westin St. Francis, the Claremont Resort in Berkeley, the Trocadero Clubhouse at Stern Grove, the South Light Court of San Francisco City Hall, and the Chateau de Vie Winery in Calistoga, among other venues. We also perform regularly for special events at Macy's Union Square flagship store in San Francisco.

• We booked Alex and the Turnaround Jazz Trio only a few days before the event. Alex responded very quickly and professionally. They were on time as promised and the music was great - they picked the perfect type of songs and styles for our group. • The Turnaround Jazz Quartet performed at my engagement party, and they were wonderful! They were talented,accommodating,responsive and professional. When I wanted a singer, they lined up a superb vocalist that also played the piano. There were a lot of impromptu speeches during my engagement and the Quartet always found a way to smoothly end their set and start it back up again. I didn't have time to give detailed instructions but they were able to read the crowd and get the party mood going naturally by playing light music during cocktails and slowly building up as the night moved along to dancing.
