About
We're here to offer a refreshing alternative to the standard wedding band with swinging sets of Jazz, Blues, Dixieland, New Orleans Funk and Roots Rock and we're always happy to add a few of your favorites to add to the list. Ted Hefko's New Orleans Band consists of myself on Vocals, Sax & Clarinet and Acoustic Guitar along with electric guitar, upright bass, and drums/vocals with the addition of horns and keyboards for larger events.
Ted Hefko and The Thousandaires have just finished up a brand album of originals entitled, "If Walked On Water," featuring our unique blend of New Orleans Jazz and Roots Rock. We perform regularly at Radegast Biergarden, Two Boots and The Way Station in Brooklyn and we're looking foreward to a winter trip to New Orleans and Austin - two of my favorite music towns! The Ted Hefko Trio performs frequently at The Antique Garage, Merchant's Cigar and Jules Bistro in Manhattan. Please "Google Me" for longer video and music samples elsewhere in cyberspace.

"Without a doubt, one of the best parts of our wedding reception last August was having Ted and his band come up to from Brooklyn. We stumbled upon his listing here and couldn't have been more pleased with the timeliness, accommodation, and professionalism he and his crew showed throughout the event. The band played longer than our agreed upon time, which was great! When asked why, the answer was; "When we're playing to people who appreciate the music, we get into it too!". It is obvious Ted loves his genre and the craft of making music. Were we to do it again, we wouldn't change a thing!"

"As a professional composer and musician it was important to me for our wedding music to be something special. The idea of a DJ or bad pop covers was out of the question. I'm admittedly a bit of a snob when it comes to music - it's my job.
The Ted Hefko band was just what we were looking for: fun, energetic, laid-back, and danceable. These are real musicians that live and breathe music and - it shows. Many guests gave us their unsolicited opinions of the music: "the best music at any wedding, and one of the best live bands they'd seen."
If you're like me and can't stomach the idea of what normally passes for acceptable Wedding music give Ted a call."

"We cannot say enough good things about Ted's band. Throughout the wedding planning process, Ted was very accomodating; he quickly responded to all correspondence and was happy to learn any special requests. Ted consistently got everyone out on the dance floor with an ecclectic mix of styles. There was a great mix of slow and fast dance songs, and he included every song we had asked for.
We cannot recommend the Ted Hefko Band highly enough--they were crucial in carrying off a reception that was tailored to our taste and yet enjoyed by all of our guests. We are still getting compliments on the band two weeks later!

"These guys are AWESOME. Musically, they are extremely talented and have unbelievable range. We asked them to play instrumental jazz for a cocktail hour and then transition into more upbeat material with vocals as the party got going. And they nailed it. Moreover, they were very receptive to our requests as far as crafting a setlist and learning a few new songs. And great guys on top of that - everyone loved them. Very professional as well. Would highly recommend! "

"Pretty much blew any expectations we could have had for a perfect band for our wedding out of the water. This group of musicians are amazing. Ted is beyond talented, and an awesome person to work with. Planning was completely stress free, and the performance was commented on by pretty much everyone in attendance. "Ted Hefko and the Thousandaires were, without a doubt, the best decision we could have made when planning our wedding reception music! These musicians are extremely talented with a diverse playlist that kept the dance floor packed all night. As the bride, everything was a whirlwind, but one thing I do know is...I danced!!! Our guests have not stopped raving about how great they were and how perfect their music was for our wedding. Ted was a pleasure to work with; professional and extremely accommodating with our requests. This review doesn't do the band justice- they were amazing! I can't recommend them highly enough.
