Description
YOUNG CLASSIC CROONER MATT BARBER has been touring the U.S. coast to coast since 2005, performing classic Easy Listening/Jazz and Oldies from the 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond!
With a classic vocal style reminiscent of Barry Manilow and Michael Buble, Matt delivers songs from yesterday and today with a sincere, meaningful approach.
Matt's repertoir includes awesome classics by artists such as Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Perry Como, Johny Mathis, Bobby Darin, Michael Buble, Frankie Valli and many more!
Matt has appeared in thousands of retirement communities and senior events, wineries, ballroom events and upscale dinners. A young crooner, Matt is experienced in performing for audiences both big and small. Barber's passion for music and touching hearts comes through in every song.
The #1 reason you want to book Matt for your event: He is the real deal. Every time Matt puts on a show, a common response from an audience member will be "when are you coming back?" He is always asked back, every time. Matt is more than an entertainer. He provides a fun, unique, and uplifting experience that your guests will be talking about for weeks.
Matt's show, also known as "The Matt Barber Experience" consists of "fun, upbeat, and relaxing music from the heart." Matt provides an extensive repertoire of music, making for a fun, relaxing, and interesting experience for a romantic evening with that special person, or a fun night which you can bring your whole family to enjoy. Matt performs solo and, and occasionally with singer Valerie Penrod, and guests with trios, and other groups. Matt has always worked to deliver a heart-warming, yet powerful sound. "If I can help people forget their problems, feel uplifted, and bring them some happiness, then I've done my job," says Matt.
Matt was born in Peoria, Illinois, and took a deep interest in singing at the age of 10, listening to his dad Mark, a DJ on Oldies 101.3 KUUL-FM in the Quad Cities. Matt sang in school and church choirs, and was exposed to music through his grandmothers who grew up during the Big Band Area, and his mother, an amazing pianist. During high school, Matt began to hewn his craft by performing at various venues, such as coffee houses, and other local establishments. From attending school during the day and performing on a regular basis at night, he planned his first major US Tour. Since his debut album release in 2003, Matt has released 7 albums, the last 3 were produced by Daniel Dennis in Nashville, TN.
Matt's performances feature professional unique accompaniments, arranged by Alan McPike of Scotland. This has allowed Matt to provide a high caliber of entertainment at a more reasonable price than using a full band. These type of arrangements are not "karaoke tracks." (They can't be purchased at your local Walmart).
Matt also has access to high quality musicians and can perform with a duo (drums, piano) or trio (drums, piano, bass) and with a larger situation at an additonal fee for rehearsal time and musician fees.
His upscale, classic style is perfect for venues including festivals, wineries, retirement communities, upscale dinners and restaurants, wedding receptions, casinos, hotels, RV Parks, 55+ Communities, country clubs, resorts, reunions, American Legions, VFWs, Elks, Amvets, Moose Clubs, and other fraternal organizations, birthdays, colleges, holiday shows, TV and Movie soundtracks, and studio session work.
While Matt is based out of the Southern Illinois, MATT IS AVAILABLE TO PERFORM ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. AND CANADA. Matt represents a "best buy" in entertainment - rates vary based on length of performance and travel distance.
