Description

Coined by listeners as a "blue-eyed Sarah Vaughan" with a "voice like candy", Courtney Renée Stanley's experience as a multifaceted artist has taken her from the Riverwalk jazz scene of San Antonio, Texas to the Berlin Philharmonie stage with the Grammy-award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Her unique style combines years of classical training with her love of standard and modern jazz, blues and spirituals.

Ms. Stanley has been privileged to join some of the finest musicians in the southeastern United States and metro Atlanta region as a guest jazz and blues vocalist. Local venues include Chops, Barley's Billiards, Café 290, Crown and Anchor Pub, Balloo's (Columbus, GA) and Redz (Jonesboro, GA). Southeastern US appearances include the Mike Corrleone Trio (Delores del Rio's), Jake's Jazz on the River (Riverwalk, SA, TX), the Larry Cole Trio (Fayetteville, WV) and the Wine and All That Jazz and Blues Festival with the Marshall Petty Groove Band (Charleston, WV).

Her theatrical career has included lead and title roles in shows such as Steel Magnolias, Robin Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Lend Me a Tenor, Smoke on the Mountain (European tour, 2000), Fast Girls, I Do! I Do! and Camelot to name a few. Further theatrical/choral experience includes staged productions of Carmen and La Bohème.

Additionally, Ms. Stanley was the soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Grand Mass and Rutter's Magnificat (with members of the WVSO). She is currently in her 5th season with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and most recently proudly entertained with an evening of standard American jazz to benefit Autism Speaks™.

Feedback

  • Courtney is not only incredibly talented, she is the most accommodating professional that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She was open to suggestions, she always responded to all correspondences. She arrived early to the function, was prepared and performed flawlessly. Her associated musician reflected identically. You will not find a better person to represent you. I will definitely use her again and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a classy, humble, extremely talented professional. - Jessie A. Quinones -- Jessie Q, Atlanta, GA, 9/10/2011
