Description

West Side 5 adds a classy musical touch to any event, without the logistical hurdles of an instrumental group, and at an incredible value. Inspired by greats like Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, and the Real Group, this group of 5 jazz singers performs original interpretations of classic tunes, with or without amplification, for parties, concerts, bars, clubs, coffee houses and competitions. They perform with energy, precision, and rhythmic vitality, all without the aid of instruments.

West Side 5 was the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes Champion. A review of a recent performance said "These cats surely know what they're doing and deserve much more attention than they're getting...they have a classic-style group with all the sweet dissonant harmonies you could ask for. West Side 5 is structured and based on close harmony, locomotive jazz lines, and blend."

Feedback

  • West Side 5 is a very talented group of individuals. They did a great job at our wedding party in Tribecca and all the guests really enjoyed their performance. I highly recommend them. They are very easy to work with. -- Haviva Kohl, Ny, NY, 10/29/2010
  • What a fantastic evening and performance, highly recommended for any corporate event/dinner/party! We'll definitely hire them for our next event too! -- Harri Rehnberg, New York, NY, 12/4/2010
  • The group was nothing short of spectacular. My guest said if they get nothing else for Christmas than the joy they got from listening to this marvelous acapella group, that would have been enough. My wife who is sceptical of jazz confessed to being a convert saying she must have been listening to the wrong people all these years. If you want to warm your hearts, bring this group to yor next event , or better yet, to your home to seranade you. -- Albert Repicci, Greenwich, CT, 12/12/2010
