Description
Sinti Rhythm is an acoustic quartet that performs an exotic hybrid of hot jazz and Gypsy swing music of the kind played by Django Reinhardt, Le Quintette du Hot Club de France, and the Sinti Musicians of Europe. Blending seductive harmonies powered by string-based rhythms, the band's repertoire includes standards from The Great American Songbook, original compositions by Django, and selections from virtuoso Gypsy musicians like Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg, and Dorado Schmitt. Instrumentation consists of the traditional Gypsy rhythm section of two guitars and an upright bass, with clarinet, and occasionally includes violin, saxophone, and/or vocals.
Sinti Rhythm has performed throughout Massachusetss and the Northeast for many weddings and private functions, with appearances at the Brooklyn Djangology Festival, French Library and Cultural Center of Boston, Wayland Public Library, Gore Place Summer Concert Series, Sparrow Park Concert Series, shows at Toad, The Cantab Lounge, The Stork Club, Sherborn Inn, Boston Swing Central, Novartis Corporation, and a three-year residency at Atwood's Tavern in Cambridge. The group has been interviewed on radio stations WMBR FM Cambridge, and WBUR's "Here and Now" with Robin Young. We have recorded one EP, "Hot Jazz & Gypsy Swing," now out in distribution.
The ensemble has extensive experience planning and producing musical programs, is available for private functions, and corporate events with acoustic amplification for a perfect sound level, and is available in various instrumental combinations.

Feedback
- On a scale of 1 to 5, Sinti Rhythm Quartet is a 10! Their music gave our wedding day the perfect touch with their incredible talent. They created such a unique atmosphere and our guests are still talking about how awesome they are! We highly recommend the quartet to anyone looking to give their event a jazzy inviting feel. Andy was great to work with. He was very attentive and helpful with song suggestions and all the details. I truly wish I had more events to hire them for. Simply put, Sinti Rhythm Quartet is absolutely amazing! -- Safia D, West Greenwich, RI, 5/21/2011
- I am a long time Gypsy Jazz fan and have to say that I was very impressed with Sinti Rhythm Quartet. Their playing was virtuosic and more importantly had great swing and exuberance. They played the gamut of the Gypsy Jazz/Swing repertoire but stamped with their own voice and style. They made what would have been simply a nice dinner party into an event! They were friendly and professional and provided great music for the entire evening. Highly recommended! A great band. -- Bill M, Newton, MA, 1/7/2012
