Bill Strippoli is a resident of Marlton, New Jersey. He is a retired educator and university administrator, with thirty-three years of experience in those fields. Throughout his career, Bill had taught more than 12,000 students, most of whom were college students. In May 2013, Bill published his memoirs on Amazon.Com about growing up gay and surviving sexual molestation and bullying: "Billy Versus The Bullies - My Journey From Victim To Victor." Bill is a native of New Jersey, where he resided until 1990. After living in Burbank, CA for seventeen years, Bill relocated back to South Jersey in January 2008 to care for his ill, elder sister, and her adult, special-needs son. His nephew died in April 2010, and his sister relocated in May 2011 to live with family members. Since then, Bill has reinvented his career as an author, anti-bullying and LGTBQIA activist, motivational speaker (bullying and LGTBQIA rights), pop-culture blogger, and comedian.
Bill would be an ideal speaker regarding the aforementioned topics at colleges and universities, as well as for special events and fundraising activities for special interest groups. He also enjoys performing stand-up comedy. Bill has a keen sense of humor that enables him to address his life story with tact, dignity, and respect. He was an award-winning teacher whose students still praise and remember him for his subject competency, caring and inspirational focus, and use of humor in the classroom to energize the learning experience for his students. In March 1996, Bill received the prestigious President's Award for Staff Achievement from the University of Southern California. He was selected by a committee of senior officers and faculty among 9,500 staff employees as having exemplified the ideal qualities of an effective university administrator. During his teaching career, he also won awards as Most Inspirational Teacher and Best Teacher.
Bill would be most effective for an audience that embraces diversity. As a comedian, he draws on his experiences as a gay man to break down barriers and to denote the commonality among all peoples. He has overcome many challenges in life that enable him to espouse the importance of high self esteem and self respect.
