Mike O'Donnell is as a professional magician in Chicago with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in weddings/private parties, and corporate events with what is called close-up magic. Close-up magic is an intimate form of entertainment that is performed right in front of the guests. All of his material is appropriate, professional, and does not embarrass anyone. This type of magic is normally performed for small groups of people.

Mike has performed for the Chicago Bulls, Seattle Mariners, Supersonic, Oklahoma City Thunder NBA team, and many other corporate events.

Typically, the best plan is to walk from table to table/guest to guest and perform a mini-show. This mini-show is basically a private show that is very intimate and will not interrupt the flow of the event. Mike works out of his pockets, which means that he does not need a stage or take up any space. He can perform close-up magic for 1-3 hours, which depends on your needs.

Mike also offers a stage show where all of the guests would be entertained as a whole. This is ideal for those events where they reserve the entire room. I had a rambunctious, in-your-face group of six-year-olds, but with seemingly endless patience and a sense of humor, Mike kept them engaged and enthralled during the entire show! When my son demanded that Mike acknowledge his Lego man in the middle of the show, Mike took it in stride and made the toy disappear, much to my son's delight. I bought this deal specifically with my daughter's 6th birthday in mind - I've never hired a party entertainer before but the timing was good and it was a great deal. I'm so glad I did - Mike was great! He involved and engaged the kids (and there were 16 kindergarteners, so that's no mean feat) and humored their interjections with grace. The guests' parents were all impressed too - a couple asked for Mike's contact information. If I have the occasion, I'll definitely look to Mike again.
