Sue Druckenmiller

As a professional harpist in the St. Louis area, I simply love to play for any "beautiful event", big or small, outdoors or indoors you may be having. I live to see you smile when your special occasion turns out just totally awesome because of the music. I could speak of myself, but I feel the thoughts of others that I have played for in the past can speak much better than I of what they have experienced when they hear their favorite songs and melodies played out upon the harp. My only desire is that your wedding, or reception, or celebration would be filled with just the right atmosphere you have always dreamed of and more....

I have played at various venues for many years now, including Lambert Itn'l Airport, The St.Louis Art Museum, Jewel Box, Scott Air Force Base, St.Louis University, Washington University, Chase Park Plaza, Ritz-Carlton, Botanical Garden, Butterfly House, Carolyn Vineyards, UMSL Provincial Chapel, St. Xavier Catholic Church, Beetree Park, and many others.

I studied harp under Mrs. Laura Hearne, a concert harpist who has played for the symphony and the Muny, and have also had the opportunity to meet and accompany a wide variety of instruments, worship bands, and vocalists. I am very open to new melodies and playing styles because of this.

I have been very fortunate to have been able to perform musically in other parts of the world too, especially in Southern India. The memories and impressions of the people I have met and have gotten to know have left a real impression on me as to the style and flow of the music I play today.

Over the years I have thoughtfully selected each song of my repertoire that I felt would not only greatly enhance any special occasion you would be having, but would also create both a unique and elegant atmosphere.

In addition to performing each song I want to be able to take the listener on an exciting and memorable journey.

I like to play in and out of the written music, leaving an open door to intuition as to how each song should be played. When playing for the prelude hour of a wedding, my desire is to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and peaceful for those in attendance before the wedding ceremony.

During reception and banquets, I strive to create an atmosphere that is both relaxing and upbeat at the same time, so that those listening are gently refreshed as well as entertained.

My greatest reward is to see people light up, as they are refreshed and invigorated from listening to each piece of music performed on the harp.
