Maia has been a professional free-lance harpist since 1979, and has been playing in the DFW area for 19 years. In the 90's Maia performed 3 nights a week at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas in the Pyramid Room as well as High Tea at the Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth. Engagements include but are not limited to parties, weddings, receptions, funerals, dinners, social galas and corporate events. Maia began studies with Bea Rose, principal harpist of the Houston Symphony. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Applied Harp from University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Gayle Barrington. She also attended Tanglewood and studied with Lucile Lawrence. With an extensive repertoire list and flexibility to play solo or with any instrumentation combination, Maia is certain to make your special occasion one to cherish.
