Booking Harpists

A harp can create a very special ambience for any wedding ceremony or special event. Harpists play a variety of music including Celtic, classical, sacred, or pop. Some harp players, however, specialize in only one type (such as a Celtic Harpist), and may not play the other styles. A harp can also be paired with another instrument such as a flute, a violin, or a classical guitar to produce an enchanting sound. Harp instruments will vary in appearance depending on whether they are a Celtic Harp (also known as "Folk Harp", "Irish Harp", or "Lever harp"), or Pedal Harp (also known as a "Classical Harp"). Harp music is best described as ethereal, and a classical harpist will add elegance to any formal occasion. So hire a harpist for your wedding or special event!

Tips For Hiring A Harpist

Finding the right harpist for your special event can be challenging, but Gigmasters makes it fun and easy! Here are five helpful tips for hiring a harp player:

1. Listen to audio and watch video of as many harpists as you can. Gigmasters has many harpists , and most of them have multiple audio and video samples available on their online press kits.

2. Thoroughly read previous client feedback. Many Gigmasters clients who have hired a harp player have left useful feedback about their experiences.

3. Book early. Professional harpists may need to be booked 6 to 12 months in advance.

4. Get a contract and read it carefully. Many harp players will also require a deposit in order to secure them. You should also make sure that your venue (whether it's indoors or outdoors) is suitable for the harpist to perform.

5. Follow up with your harpist as often as you need to. And be sure to go over your musical selections and genres as well!
