Weddings, Parties, Receptions, Showers, Benefits, Open-Houses and the list goes on. Everyday people are looking to celebrate a special event in some particular fashion and at the root of every good celebration is unique, beautiful and inspirational music.
Harp, cello, viola . . . to many association of these instruments automatically jumps to classical music and symphony concerts, ballets and operas. However, rarely do people associate these instruments either individually or combined with music from popular groups like: "Train", "One Republic", "The Beatles" or Popular Solo Artists like: Christina Perri, Bruno Mars, Beyonce or Lady GaGa and yet the very fact that as a musician I can span centuries with my music is what gets me excited.
Don't let the long gowns, imposing instruments and past experiences put limitations on your expectations of what we have to offer you as musicians. Our repertoire is so expansive, that we haven't had time to write it all down. Just because a piece isn't listed doesn't mean we don't play it. And if we don't play it chances are we are able to come up with an arrangement for your special request and we both come out winners. You get your special request and we get to experience the joy of learning and adding a new piece to our repertoire.
Past special requests for 2013 that have been added to our repertoire include: "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri, "Hey Soul Sister" by Train, "Halo" by Beyonce, "Secrets" by One Republic and "Edge of Glory" by Lady GaGa to name a few.
Music is a powerful art-form. It can influence the mood of a setting giving it a unique characteristic that sets apart and distinguishes your special event from any other. Whether you choose the angelic strains of the solo harp or the melodic strains of a talented instrumental and vocal ensemble, music is the key feature to invest in for your special event. Harp & Soul was developed and managed by professional harpist Nichole Rohrbach.
