Description
Erin Hill is a harpist & singer with a #1 Celtic album on the Billboard world chart, and in the Top 40 on the Independent chart (2009). She's a harpist, singer and songwriter on the Dream Jam Band's major label debut on EMI (2010). She's played and sung with Enya, Kanye West, moby, a-ha, Cyndi Lauper, Levon Helm, etc. and has played solo at The Royal Albert Hall. She is also known as The Pretty White Girl on Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show." Variety says "Erin Hill is lovely... and then there's the delicious sound of that harp!"
She has also played Carnegie Hall, performed on Broadway, and on film and television (feel free to check her out on imdb).
In the film "Clear Blue Tuesday" (2010), Erin is a composer, screenwriter, and performer. The New York Times says: "Erin Hill, as a giddy, harp-playing Trekker, is a standout... The best and funniest scene in the film is Ms. Hill's..." And from Variety: "A memorable number is "Reckless," penned by Erin Hill and delivered by her character, Etta, a soundtrack-session harpist and one of the film's few solidly intriguing personalities."
Erin does a variety of different gigs, ranging from Solo Harp or Solo Harp & Voice to various groups (duos, trios, full band) adding in other instruments. She does all styles and can certainly do classical, but she also specializes in pop, jazz and Celtic.
Erin was the harpist and pianist for the 1st national tour of the Tony-Award-winning Lincoln Center "South Pacific." She is the harpist on the new soundtrack for "The Fantasticks," on Martha Wainwright's acclaimed debut album "Martha Wainwright," on the original Broadway cast album of Sam Mendes' "Cabaret," in various commercials (Dunkin' Donuts, etc.), and on MTV2's "Wonder Showzen."
Erin is known at the Ritz-Carlton on Central Park South for her rock 'n' roll arrangements on solo harp, playing (and singing) everything from Bowie, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young to a-ha, The Police, Roxy Music, Prince and Avril Lavigne. She also does a great variety of Celtic, opera, and original tunes.
"Hill is a standout… and dauntingly versatile..."
-- Variety
"Beautiful! Voice exquisite, words telling tales everyone wants to hear..."
-- Radio 3, BBC
"The Kentucky-born, New York-based Hill is a songwriting angel, carved from the mold of greats like Joni Mitchell..."
-- Louisville Eccentric Observer
On the silver screen, Erin played Sandra Mescal in the most recent Tim Robbins' film "Cradle Will Rock" and appears on the soundtrack along with PJ Harvey and Eddie Vedder. Erin has sung solo on HBO's "The Chris Rock Show" as the Hippie Chick, and on Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show" as the Pretty White Girl. Erin has twice been part of the Sundance Theater Lab in Utah, originating the role of Ilse in "Spring Awakening," and as musical director for "Lil's 90th," opening at the Long Wharf Theater in 2010.
Erin is also a screenwriter on the upcoming sci-fi film "Fade To White," which Erin describes as "On the Beach meets Saturday Night Live, post-apocalypse." Her songs can be heard in several other films, including "Spent," "Bad Bride," and "American Desi." As a voice-over artist she's been heard on commercials from Coca-Cola and Walmart to Play-Doh and Dunkin' Donuts.
Erin studied voice with Marni Nixon and at L'Ecole Hindemith in Switzerland and has played Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. She was a founding member of the band Wicked Felina with G.E. Smith (of Saturday Night Live), where she was a co-writer, co-singer, and played harp, guitar, flute, accordion, and hammered dulcimer. Erin's played drums with Martha & the Vandellas; she's a classically trained pianist and plays keyboards, as well as percussion, guitar, and vocals for Will Lee (of David Letterman) and Jimmy Vivino (of Conana O'Brien) in The Fab Faux; and she plays harp, saxophone and flute on the original Broadway cast album of Sam Mendes "Cabaret" soundtrack on RCA, and also appears on the original Broadway cast album of Titanic.

Feedback
- Erin Hill was a pleasure to work with. She was on time, she was prepared, and Erin Hill, as a performer, is an "11" on the 1 to 10 scale. She can create the type of musical event that will make your customers begging for more. An amazing performer on the harp plus her vocals (and range) have not yet been topped here in our concert series. Erin can program her performance to any type of venue or event you may be planning. For instance, we asked Erin for a Celtic Christmas concert and she delivered. (With Two Encore Standing Ovations). We then asked for a Irish program of music for a St. Patrick's Day Party event, Erin Hill delivered ! -- Randy E, Bordentown, NJ, 12/17/2010
- Another fantastic performance from Erin Hill. Besides her A+ performance with her St. Patrick's Day Celtic Concert, Erin Hill is an all around joy just to be with. Extrememly professional, punctual, easy to work with. An "11" on the 1 to 10 scale. Not a dry eye in the house on erin's performance of "Danny Boy". You'll love Erin Hill live. I suggest booking her soon, her star is shining. Erin truly could become a headliner at a Carnegie Hall or Radio City Music Hall concert. (She's already performed at these venues in other groups) -- Randy E, Bordentown, NJ, 3/18/2011
- Erin was professional, cordial and over all a joy. Her set was great and well received by the audience! I would definitely recommend her. -- Glen B, East Islip, NY, 3/20/2011
- Excellent. -- Steve S, Montclair, NJ, 12/17/2011
- Erin was very easy to work with, showed up on time and was ready to play whenever I asked her to. She played beautifully and came with an electric harp that was easily adjusted to whatever level we needed for differing amounts of people in the church. All comments were positive and we intend to have her come again, if possible. -- Lisa M, Bergenfield, NJ, 12/24/2011
