Diana Marie Gibbs, Harpist

Diana began playing the harp at the age of five. Born in Washington, DC and raised in Alexandria, VA, she is a trusted professional harpist in the area, where she has performed for hundreds of events since 1995. She is a familiar face during high tea at the Willard Intercontinental, and has prepared programs for local landmarks such as the US Senate, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Archives and Mount Vernon Estate.

With a multimedia-rich website, Diana aims to take the guesswork out of hiring the perfect harpist for your special occasion. Over 50 audio samples--each recorded by Diana-- are available; public performance dates, video, and images are also posted.

Diana's music speaks to a broad range of audiences, from young children and local brides to Warren Buffet, Melinda Gates, Barron Hilton, and other esteemed members of The Giving Pledge, for whom she was honored to perform in 2011.

In the recent past, Diana set the stage for a 56th Presidential Inauguration celebration held in the National Archives' Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Her music was also featured during the grand opening of the Archives' Treaty of Paris exhibit, as well as for art openings at the Embassy of Russia and the Meridian International Center. She was engaged for a series of events held at designer Max Mara stores in Tysons Galleria and Chevy Chase, and has shared her talent abroad, having performed for children in South Korea.

Ms. Gibbs earned her Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. She works at the Library of Congress, as the Collections Conservation Section's liaison to the Music Division.

• My sister was the one who actually hird Ms. Gibbs. When I arrived at the wedding, Ms. Gibbs was already playing and how she played really set the tone for that day.
