Catherine Barrett

The sounds of the harp add a special touch to any event. Catherine enjoys providing this service to her clients in a friendly and professional manner. Having played for countless weddings, Catherine works closely with her clients to select the perfect repertoire for each unique ceremony and strives to make your event planning as relaxed as possible. With years of experience in a variety of venues, Catherine welcomes the opportunity to make your event a memorable one.

Most recently Catherine was the harp soloist for the Island Shangri-La hotel in Hong Kong, where she entertained guests with repertoire ranging from classical and jazz to broadway and current pop songs.

Catherine has served as Principal Harpist for a variety of orchestras in the U.S. and abroad, and appears regularly as a substitute harpist for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Opera and Tacoma Symphony. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Masters degree from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

• Catherine provided a beautiful performance for my mother's 70th birthday luncheon. Her playing was so engaging that everyone relaxed and listened throughout with relaxed and quiet conversations percolating in the background. The group ranged in age from 6 to 70 which is not always easy and the choice of selections kept everyone listening. She even let the curious young ones gently touch the harp. She was very professional, showed up early, set up quickly and made everyone feel at ease.
