Ardis A. Cavin

With a Master's Degree in Music and an extensive performance background, Ardis has established herself as one of the Northeast's foremost harpists.

Ms. Cavin has won numerous awards and scholarships - among them: The International Platform Association's "First Prize" in it's annual competetion in programming and performance in college sponsored concerts and lectures. Recently, she was seen on Public Television's "Ballads From Britian" where she accompanied herself on the harp and narrated some of the fascinating stories of the old English and Irish ballads.

Ardis has given concerts in New York's, Donnel Music Library at Lincoln Center, the Columbia University's Chapel as well as touring many New York schools with her "Harp Adventures" program. Her CD, "Harp Adventures" contains some of the music used in these events.

As a free-lance harpist, Ardis has brought her experience and popular repertoire of light classics, Broadway and International favorites to many exquisite weddings and lively parties ,as well as sacred music to Christian and Jewish services.

Currently, Ms. Cavin is a professor of music at Bergen Community College in Paramus, N. J. and teaches privately in her studio in Englewood, N. J. She is the founder and director of the seven member Cavin Harp Ensemble - one of the few performing ensembles in this area.

• In one word Ardis was amazing... From the first moment of contact, Ardis was a pleasure to work with. While my husband and I did not have time to go to the cocktail hour, I heard from every guest that night as well as in the days following of how amazing our cocktail hour was due to the harpist. • I hired Ardis' services for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah on October 29th. I was grateful that she arrived in advance of her scheduled time to set up and ensure that she was ready to go. This was esepcially important because we were hit with an 8 inch snowstorm that day. I also thought that her appearance was quite professional and her harp was beautiful.
