Description

An experienced professional musician, Agnes Hall has shared her love of the harp by playing for events for over ten years. In August 2006, Agnes was named the Resident Harpist of Loews Ventena Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona, where she played the harp for high tea three days a week for two years.

Agnes earned her Bachelor's of Music degree in Harp Performance from the University of Arizona, where she studied with Distinguished Professor Dr. Carrol McLaughlin, one of the instrument's most famous jazz/classical artists. She is currently a Master's of Music candidate at the University of Illinois, where she is a student of Dr. Ann Yeung, editor of the World Harp Congress Review, and the current recipient of the prestigious Roslyn Rensch Harp Award.

Since May of 2004, Agnes has appeared in numerous concerts throughout the South, Southwest, and Mexico and was a featured soloist at the 2008 Rio de Janerio Harp Festival in Brazil. In 2007, Agnes was invited by the Mexican state of Sonora to participate in a five-city tour as part of the Alfonso Tirado Music Festival.

Now a veteran of international touring, Agnes owes much of her concert experience to her membership in HarpFusion, the largest touring professional harp ensemble in the world. While playing with this University of Arizona group, Agnes appeared in over seventy-five concerts, including performances in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, and Mexico, and Brazil.

In June 2011, Agnes served as the Harp Apprentice in the Hot Springs Music Festival, where she was conducted by Peter Bay of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. While in Hot Springs, Agnes' harp mentor was Deborah Fleisher, formerly of the Annapolis Symphony, Miami Opera, the Miami Ballet, and the current harp instructor at the University of Miami.

As a promoter of musical appreciation and education, Agnes has presented yearly school outreach presentations since May 2007, and looks forward to continuing this tradition. She appears on Harp Fusion's 2006 Cosmos Concert, Live! CD/DVD. Most recently, Agnes can be heard on Here in America, the sophomore album of the respected jazz ensemble Sylvan Street, which was released in May 2011.

Agnes knows it is important to consider both the aesthetic taste and musical preferences of her diverse clientele, and considers it her honor and privilege to contribute harp music to the special occasions of others. Whether she is performing as a concert soloist or providing ambient music, Agnes Hall greatly enjoys working with clients, perfectly fitting together all of the musical details involved in a constructing successful event.

Feedback

  • I hired Agnes to play for a private and intimate birthday party for my wife. I have nothing but great things to say and we will use her again. She was responsive, on-time, warm, presentable, professional and most of all she did a beautiful job of playing the the perfect songs on the harp!! For our event we had a private chef team prepare and serve the meals and Agnes played during the reception and dinner. I'm happy to say that her entertainment provided the perfect ambience to a fantastic meal. And it was such a beautiful instrument that it also became a popular backdrop for pictures. I have a new appreciation for the harp as a result. Very, very happy! -- Marcus C, Lake In The Hills, IL, 12/10/2011
