Description

I love playing wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours as a solo guitarist. I have played professionally for twenty years in the tri-state area. I divide my song list into three categories (Classical, Popular, and Jazz), and you can hear samples of each on this page. I WILL happily learn your request even if it is not on my list. And if you would like advice on song choices please ask, as I have played lots of weddings.
I play all of my music on a steel string acoustic guitar, which gives even the classical pieces a warm, folk-like quality. I am constantly updating my popular song list so again if you have a special song you'd like to hear, let me know.
I play jazz standards in a guitar style called "chord melody", which means the melody, harmony, and rhythm are all played at the same time, making the guitar a virtual one-man band. Often this type of playing is enjoyed during the cocktail hour, where the mood is slightly elevated from the ceremony. Great references and reviews, just ask!

Feedback

  • Scott was a pleasure to work with. He played right along with the atmosphere of our office party and even took requests. I would highly reccoment Scott for any function. He was very professional, timely, curteous and talented. -- Cristina H, New York City, NY, 1/19/2011
  • Scott is a true professional! I had hired Scott to play my wedding ceremony music and it was so perfect! Prior to the wedding, I had asked to meet with him to hear him play a few songs that I had requested to which he gladly obliged. I got married on the evening of Hurricane Irene in Manhattan and was nervous vendors/participants wouldn't be able to travel in to the city but Scott made it and made it early. He reassured me the days before that he would not miss it and would be there no matter what. Thanks Scott for your part in our wedding! It was so nice to meet you! :) -- Esther K, New York, NY, 8/27/2011
  • We had a great experience with Scott playing at our out door wedding. We coordinated with us every step of the way. Was very accommodating of our song requests and played beautifully during the ceremony. -- Beth H, New York City, NY, 9/3/2011
  • Scott was absolutely wonderful! He learned two songs for our ceremony and played for our whole cocktail hour and we couldn't be happier the way it turned out! Scott is very professional and was always available for any questions we had and open to all of our requests. His attention to detail and the way he customized our ceremony to exactly what we wanted really made our wedding day special! I highly recommend Scott to play at your wedding...we are so glad we chose him! -- Meghan B, New York, NY, 4/6/2012
