DESCRIPTION:
NYC-based pro solo acoustic guitarist/vocalist. Ivy-educated, liability insured. Professionalism, musicality, arresting renditions and total client satisfaction are my focuses.Memorized repertoire spans from Bach to Rock, is self taught and learned by ear, and performed 100% live without backing tracks, a drum machine, sequencers or lead/lyric sheets. My forte is "reducing" fully orchestrated recordings for solo acoustic guitar/voice, covering all the parts, not just the guitar and vocal parts. Since age fifteen, I've been immersed in classic recordings, repertoire building and performing. I use unusual chord voicings, and emphasize syncopation, articulation and improvisation. Vocal range is 3 1/2 octaves. Some of the gigs I've played are private parties, house parties, country and golf clubs, corporate and social functions, gigs on boats, fundraisers, wine tastings and intimate serenades. Many clients have rehired me, some often. I would do my best to help you have a terrific party. Also I've performed solo at dozens of weddings. I would be honored to work with you toward an enchanted wedding. Usually I play classical and instrumentals on on acoustic guitar during the preheat and ceremony; and acoustic guitar/vocal songs for the cocktail hour. I've played entire weddings including the dinner music and reception. My main axe is a Lowden 025-C custom-made Irish acoustic guitar. I'm also fluent on electric and bass guitars. I use various sound equipment depending on the gig, including a 50 watt battery-powered amp that is ideal for outdoor jobs where there is no electrical outlet. For most gigs, I let it all hang out, but I can blend into the background if you prefer. Requests and sing-alongs are welcome, and in the right situations, guest singers too. Whatever it takes for you and your guests to have a great time! Manhattan, NY-based, I am available nationally and abroad. No agents or third parties. Feel free to contact me to discuss your gig. Thanks for checking me out.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:
Scott was beyond fantastic! He was set up and ready to go before I had even arrived at the restaurant (20 minutes early). What a pleasure it was to have him. What a gentleman! He entertained extremely well. He was perceptive and flexible, entertaining the youngest to the oldest. Everyone was toe tapping, humming, singing and dancing all evening. I recommend him highly and would use him again in a heartbeat. My guests were asking me for his number and the restaurant staff even took his card! I noticed people peeking into our private room to see him; he was that good! My party would not have been the same without him. . .Thanks Scott!

Scott was AMAZING! He was professional and pleasant in all his conversations with us and most importantly was extremely thoughtful and accomodating. He is an extremely polite and kind man and was very happy to comply with any music requests. His musical repertoire is astounding, his voice, and performance were beyond our expectations. He made our evenings memorable and so much fun. If we have another event I would call him again and recommend his service to anyone. We had a wonderful experience all around with Scott.

Scott was perfect for our event. It was a cocktail party on the terrace of our country club(in the Phila.suburbs)to celebrate the recent marriage of our son and new daughter -in-law. His music and voice were wonderful and provided just the ambience we had hoped for. The temperature happened to be over 95 degrees, but the heat never phased Scott. His voice is fabulous. He sounds like the original singers . His songlist is AMAZING!! The guests- all in their 60's- loved the music. Scott is wonderful to deal with- very accomodating. He really tried to please us and tailor his performance to our needs - and he succeeded. I will definitely use him again at our next party.

Working with Scott was an absolute pleasure. Playing in our outdoor dining area, Scott had an uncanny ability to read the pulse of our crowd and deliver exactly what they wanted. The combination of great chops, incredible humility and showing a true joy in connecting with the public is hard to find in an entertainer. I believe we've found that in Scott and we look forward to his next gig with us.

We had never meet before the wedding and he listened to every request that we made. We felt confident in his ability to create the type of atmosphere that we dreamed of. We will certainly use him in the future and highly recoomend him to anyone looking for a talented, happy and hard working guitar player.

Scott is an amazing musician but most of all he is a gentleman. I am so glad I hired him for my husband's 50th birthday party. He really made the event very special. He was very unintrusive and willing to accomodate us in every way. He turned the occasion into a very relaxing and fun night. The guests really loved him and were amazed at his reportoire of songs. I hired Scott to be a street musician in the vicinity of a planned proposal. The whole concept needed patience, understanding, and professional experience Scott exemplified all these attributes and more. He walked blocks searching for the spot, he accepted date changes, and overall was a big part of our memorable night.
Scott thanks for the memory.

This was my second time hiring Scott. Not only is he a super guy, but he's an awesome and very versatile talent. His song list is mind boggling. He had a tough crowd, too: a bunch of radio personalities and professional musicians. They rarely moved out of the room while he was performing. One of the biggest hits was a final set sing a long of a popular songs. He was such a hit he nearly ran out of business cards! Hire this guy. It's well worth it.

No one needs to worry if someone will show up or not or not live up to their expectations. Scott exceeded all of mine. Then to have someone so nice, talented and accommodating was the icing on the cake. We had a blast. We could have listened to him all night! My crazy family was even dancing, he was that good.

I just wanted to send you a quick note and tell you what a great job you did performing at my parents' anniversary party. I can't tell you how many calls I have received complimenting you. My only regret is that we did not book you for a longer period of time.... who would have thought 4 hours would not be enough. Even the caterer asked for your card. I look forward to hearing you at our next party!

Scott Samuels was an excellent choice for our party. I was so pleased with his amazing talent. Scott was hired to play from 3:30 to 8:30 P.M. but the guest were enjoying his performance so much when asked if he would stay longer he said yes and played till 11:30 P.M. His voice and Guitar playing is out of this world. The guest ages ranged from Children to Teenagers to college graduates to 40 and 50 year olds to Seniors and everyone at the party really, really enjoyed Scotts music. So many of are guest wanted to know where did I find Scott and I told them I found him on Gigmaster On-line. Scott was ask by many many of are guest for his card. Scott was extremely polite and mannerly and when asked to play reguest from our guest he did so instantly. Scott passed out his extensive song list and the guest really enjoyed being able to hear their favorite songs. He also welcomed guest to come up and sing as he played the Guitar. I would recommed Scott Samuels for any age group and any type of party.
My son's having a block Party in a few week's and is having Scott Samuels to entertain that day. We also will have Scott at our next party. He was so good we might plan a party soon just to hear him again. I can't say enough good things about Scotts performance that day !!!!!!!!!!! He is the very best entertainer you could ever have at your party !!!!!!! Thanks Scott, you made our party the best we ever had and we have alot of parties, this one will really be remembered for a long time thanks to you Scott !!! Will be in touch real soon !!!!! Thanks so much !!!!! Your the Best !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott did an amazing job! His communication before the big day left us worry free. His talent is exceptional. He arrived early and started to play as soon as he was set up. Our cocktail hour music was fun, entertaining and interactive. He planned to play a duet with my father-in law, but we forgot the guitar at home. Scott was gracious enough lend his guitar so the bride could still sing a song with her dad. We would recommend him unconditionally. He rocks!!!

I had a surprise 40th Birthday Party for my wife Jill who was not looking forward to this milestone. I wanted some live music for our guests to enjoy without having to hire a complete band. Searching on Gigmasters, I found Scott Samuels.
The result was SCOTT SAMUELS ROCKS!
Our party of 40-50 people moved throughout our hime with only a few guests paying attention to Scott. Scott played a wide selection from the Beatles to Chaka Khan to Paul Simon to Seals & Crofts. Gradually the attention migrated to our living room where Scott had quietly captured the attention of our entire party with people singing along and enjoying his music.
Many of our guests commented where had we found Scott Samuels?
Our answer was GIGMASTERS?
Our only regret was that I did not provide cigarette lighters to our guests so they could have given Scott Samuels the appropriate Concert salute for his five star performance!

Excellent! Scott is the best. He played accoustic music for our wedding ceremony and then did some of what he does best for the cocktail hour. He took requests and was very flexible and professional. I only regret that we missed part of his performance because we were out taking pictures!
Lots of our friends even made a point of telling us how awesome Scott was.

Scott is a wonderful musician and provided us with exactly the kind of music and atmosphere we wanted to create for our wedding reception. More than one of our guests approached us during the course of the event and asked, "Where did you get this guy? He is terrific!". When I told them I found him on the internet their mouths dropped open in disbelief! We caught many people singing along with Scott and tapping their feet to the music. Even the children enjoyed themselves. Our wedding reception was a great success and Scott was a big part of it!! We highly recommend him! Thanks again!! Larry and Wendy

Scott was absolutely wonderful in every respect. He traveled all the way to Princeton, NJ from NYC at no cost. He was extremely easy to work with and made me feel at ease at a time when things were getting a little hectic before my wedding. His range in music is amazing and played the perfect mix. His selections for the ceremony were beautiful. Everyone at my wedding was so impressed by him and people were disappointed he was only there until the end of the cocktail hour. I just wish we weren't taking pictures during cocktail hour so we could have heard him play more. I would recommend him to anyone for any occasion.

Scott gave an amazing performance! Everything was perfect! The job was everything I had hoped for and more. I contacted Scott to help me out with proposing to my girlfriend. I asked a lot of Scott to pull off this proposal and he played his part, (and his guitar) perfectly!
On the last day of our vacation, my girlfriend and I went for a sunset walk on the beach, on the Gulf of Mexico. As we were walking, we happened upon an individual singing and playing an acoustic guitar. The individual sounded great, and we stopped and listened for a moment. After finishing a song, I asked the musician if he minded if we stood and listened for a minute. The musician turned and replied, "of course not, lay down your towels and sit for awhile." We stayed and listened to him play a beautiful, romantic song. I found a passerby to snap a photo of my girlfriend and I in front of the sunset, and while posing for the photo, I got down on my knee and asked my now fiance to marry me. She said yes, and I turned to the man playing the guitar and asked if he could "play us something special." The musician was of course Scott, and he then played "our song". It was after he started singing our special song that my fiance realized that this was no stranger, and in fact the musician was there to play a sunset serenade on the beach for the two of us.
Scott was able to learn our requested song, meet us on the beach 1200 miles from New York, and play along with my plan until the right moment. All of this, without ever meeting me face to face. It was the perfect combination of planning and professionalism.
Scott sounded amazing. The entire performance was perfect, and better than I could have hoped for. I look forward to calling Scott again to play at our upcoming wedding.

I thought it would be hard to find great talent for a two hour exhibit hall event in Jersey City. Scott exceeded my expectations on his service and performance. I appreciated Scott's attention to detail; he really wanted to make sure the set-up and sound would be appropriate for this training industry event. He is extremely talented. I knew he was a hit when attendees asked for special requests from his playlist. The audience was having so much fun, he stayed extra time to complete an encore performance. Thanks Scott for making our opening night event a success.

Scott really made my husband's birthday party a fun and unique event. I can't tell you how many people stopped me and said what a great musician he was. He interacted well with all the guests and encouraged requests--of which I believe he received quite a few by the end. In fact, he had so many at the end that he missed his cab because he didn't want to walk out in the middle of a song that everyone was obviously enjoying.
From my perspective, Scott was very easy to work with and completely reliable. He was very responsive to all my questions and always confirmed the details of any conversations we had in the weeks prior to the party with a follow-up call or email.
I would definitely book Scott again, and if what my guests were saying is true, he will be coming back down to DC in the future for a few more gigs.

There is not enough words to tell how much we enjoyed Scott performance. He played for our cocktail hour and everyone I talked to was very impressed. He is a very accomplished musician, who can play covers or his own set of originals. Being a musician myself, I can appreciate the level at which he plays. I can definitely say that anyone that uses Scott will NOT be disappointed.

Scott was the key to my successful 30th birthday dinner party. Without Scott, the party would have been just another ordinary dinner party, but because of Scott's music, it was the most exciting party I have been to in years! Scott easily entertained a diverse group of people aged 25-35. He is extremely professional and everything I read about him and his talents was 100% accurate. I highly recommend him without hestitation as he is simply terrfiic! WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Scott was absolutely amazing. His ability to gauge the crowd, and select the perfect song every time was evident throughout his performance, and his diversity seemed unending. His talent was simply overwhelming, and my wife and I got much praise from the people at the event for selecting Scott. We ordered a special song that wasn't on Scott's list, "That's Amore," and Scott had it down perfectly by the party, note for note, it was wonderful. I would recommend Scott to anyone seeking a first class act, I simply have never experienced better. One last note, shortly after Scott set-up I had to make a request. I wanted to hear him do "Bohemian Rhapsody," because I saw it listed on his site. Scott played the entire song, including the interlude. My wife and I knew at that point, why Scott came so highly recommended!
Thanks Scott,
