Freelance solo acoustic guitarist/vocalist. Extensive memorized repertoire spans Bach to Rock, mostly popular songs, plus classical, instrumental and other material -- performed 100% live and by memory without backing tracks, drum machine, lyric sheets or written music. Professionalism, musicianship and total client satisfaction are my focuses.

Since 2002, I've played 100-200 gigs annually. My specialty is reducing ensemble recordings to highly detailed solo acoustic guitar/vocal renditions. Memorized playlist is roughly 800 tunes, multi genre: classic-prog-soft-indie rock, standards, soul, R & B, lite FM, lite jazz, oldies, hits and album cuts from the 40s-50s-60s-70s-80s-90s-00s, focused on 70s-80s, including 80+ post 1990 hits, plus classical, instrumental, traditional, Irish and holiday music. My approach to arranging is holistic, and often pianistic. I do the whole thing, not just the guitar and vocal parts, incorporating all the parts, signature nuances from the recordings, improvisation as the tune allows, and a range of guitar techniques. All of the popular songs on my list were learned by ear. With classical and other potentially difficult material, I sometimes read music as well as listen to recordings.

Most of my gigs are private events... parties, functions, serenades, weddings, etcetera. I entertain or blend into the background as appropriate. Requests are always welcome, and in the right situations, guest singers and musicians too. Whatever it takes for folks to have a great time!
