We are the Mighty Men of Faith. We sing songs in Contemporary Christian/Gospel Music genre. We are a music ministry that sing songs of praise and worship with fervor and zeal. We first sang as a Gospel Quartet when we performed for a Men's Day celebration at University AMEZ Church, Palo Alto, CA in April 2009. At that time the members of the group were Wendell Basey, Rev. Ed Harris, William “Pedie” Carswell, and Malvin Scott.
Our intent was to only perform for that one occasion but the divine anointing of that experience inspired us to travel and perform throughout Northern California and beyond. We ultimately produced oour first contemporary gospel CD entitled “Because He loves me.” The music is a blend of traditional and contemporary gospel music. We are committed to singing gospel music that will evoke spiritual fervor, change lives, and have lasting spiritual effect.
We released two new singles in 2011. The first is Falling in Love Again. The song is about losing ones way and finding love of the lord again. The second is a song written by Luther Barnes called “Its a Good Thing To Be Chosen”. There are two version of Its a good thing…one an album version and the other a radio version. We released a new album titled Mighty Men of Faith “Shaking the Foundation Live at the Cubberley Theater” in May 2012. The Joyful Sounds and exuberant audience is just one of the highlights of this live CD. In the words of Emmit Powell a renowned San Francisco Bay Area Gospel Artist and DJ: “Their rendition of songs are fantastic, their style delivery was truly inspiring and inspirational…”.
The sound of the Mighty Men of Faith is Uniquely their own. Fans who listen to the music of the Mighty Men of Faith listen to Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Cece Winans, Marvin Sapp, Bryon Cage, and Smokie Norful.
We lost one of our original members Malvin Scott on Janurary 4, 2013 when he traded time for eternity. He sang lead to the songs “Are You Thirsty”, “Because He Loves Me”, and I Feel Satisfied on the CD titled “Because He Loves Me”. His smooth silky anointed voice will be deeply missed. Charles Johnson has been added to the group along with Richard Hayes who join Wendell Basey and Rev. Ed. Harris as members of the Group. On November the 26th the group release a new single “Father These Things I Pray. This song of worship and meditation reminds of the need for connection with God for direction, wisdom, and strength.
