DESCRIPTION:
Lezlie Botkin has a sweet, melodious voice which is enhanced by her guitar playing. Lezlie offers interesting vocal arrangements of familiar songs that she creates herself. She specializes in Folk, Country, Traditional, Gospel, and Contemporary Christian Worship Music. Ms. Botkin is available for any type of gig, such as weddings, receptions, dinner parties, funerals, or any other type of special event. Lezlie will customize her musical set to fit your needs.
The unique arrangements of songs that Lezlie Botkin, Singer/Guitarist creates and performs will add an elegant and pleasing quality to your special occasion. Live music is such a warm addition to a special occasion. In addition, Lezlie sincerely enjoys playing live music, especially when her musical contribution can play an important role in a family's very special event.
Lezlie Botkin has been singing and playing guitar in solo and acoustic duo gigs for over 20 years, including a live vocal-acoustic duo called Rosewood. Rosewood played weddings and other special occasions in California over a 5-year period. Lezlie brings a wide variety of experience to her performing, including a master's degree in music history (she is currently a doctoral candidate at CU-Boulder working on her PhD in Musicology), and over 15 years of teaching private lessons and 10 years teaching college level music courses. Ms. Botkin draws on her extensive experience as she communicates to audiences in song.
Lezlie has also served on contemporary church worship teams for 11 years, singing and playing guitar. In addition to singing lead and harmony vocals and playing rhythm guitar on a worship team at Agape Christian Fellowship church in Visalia, CA for 8 years, Ms. Botkin also sang and played with a 10-member worship band for 1 1/2 years at Vinelife Community Church in Boulder, CO. Recently, Lezlie stepped down to focus on academic preparation for the PhD comprehensive exams, which she passed in September 2006. Ms. Botkin hopes to have more opportunities to participate in Christian music ministry in the near future.
