About
Darius Kaufmann has been a professional piper in the tri-state area for 15 years, playing for weddings, parties, church services, corporate events, social occasions, performances and recordings. He also performs traditional Irish & Scottish music on Irish whistle, flutes, bodhran (frame drum) and shuttle pipes (smaller, softer bagpipes). He has performed with Sinead O'Connor on The Tonight Show and NBC Today, and recorded Irish whistle with Tom Chapin on the Grammy-nominated CD 'Around the World and Back Again'. Most recently, he has appeared on "Good Morning America" with Il Divo, performing "Amazing Grace."
Darius has been a member of several competition pipe bands in the N.Y. area, including the Glen Rock Pipe Band, Inis Fada, and the Monaghan Pipe Band. He has competed in both solo and band competitions at Irish and Scottish games throughout the Northeast. In 1998, he performed 'Amazing Grace' as part of a nationally televised advertisement for the Winter Olympic Games, and his piping has been heard on NBC's Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
Serving N.Y. City (all boroughs), Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, NJ and CT.

"Darius did an amazing performance at our wedding. The guests loved the music and the addition of a bagpiper during the ceremony and cocktail hour. He performed and showed up to our venue without any issues and with very little instructions during the planning stages. An absolutely smooth performance. He is also an extremely nice guy. This was one of the best ideas and decisions to book with Darius/Bagpipes for all occasions! We got married at Mystic Aquarium in CT and even the Belugas loved him. A trainer shared that Juno the beluga was making new sounds that she had never heard before in tune with the bagpipes! We cant thank you enough! What an amazing experience!"
