Intro: Hi. my name is Paul. i have been playing the guitar for about 27 years now. i started with electric guitar and then switched interests to the acoustic and spanish guitar about 12 years ago. i have played for guitar competitions in fingerstyle and open guitar/acoustic guitar, i have played for coffee houses, open gigs, and have opened for bands in the central Ohio area. over the years i have been invited and attended various guitar clinics some private such as Gary Hoey and George Lynch(Dokken) and classical instructors such Classical/Chet Atkins instructors John McClellan and Robert Anderson,Buster b Jones, Doyle Dykes, and Thom Bresh.

Influences: I played for a professional christian rock band when i played electric guitar in the 90s, called Jacobs Dream. Now, i play through acoustic electric nylon guitars which enables me to play through amplifiers/PAs for larger sound. Today my playing style is heavily influenced by the spanish guitar of John Williams and Andreas Segovia, as well as Carlos Montoya and Villa Lobos. On the other side of that coin i am well influenced in the Americana picking styles of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Jerry Reed, Doc Watson, Tommy Emmanuel and Doyle Dykes.

Style: Solo Guitar. No vocals. I use a thumbpick which allows me to keep a rhythm while continuing to play meledies. i dont sing, i always say i let my guitar(s) do the singing for me, thats what i do, allow my guitars to sing. the costs of my gig are pretty affordable and comparable to other soloists. i can do 1, and or 2 hour sets or longer if needed. i can perform for private events, parties, weddings, business events and socials as well as small theatre venues. I also do gigs at coffee houses, bars and restaraunts. I have performed for The City Of Westerville Ohio Arts Council(Ralph @Java Central can verify this), performed in fund raiser- helped raise money for a venue member of Eldorados Lounge, opened for bands such as The Matt Venus Project and Athena. I performed in competition on the Merle Travis Stage of the Merle Travis Music Center in Muhlenburg County Kentucky, home of the Thumbstyle sound. I am a member of the Kentucky Thumbpickers Club as well.

Travel/Location: i am located in the central Ohio area and willing to travel up to 300 miles from the central ohio area. I will travel further for the right price.

Scheduling: Generally i am available mornings, or any Thursday and Friday-morning-afternoon-day or night- gigs but some Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, can be a possibility. I do work a full time job so i will try my very best to accomodate your request in relation to dates and times. Please consider me for your gig i will make it worth your time and money. thank you.
