Grupo Buongiorno performs melodic, rhythmic Rumba Flamenco, Brazilian music and originals, featuring the virtuosic Spanish guitar of Jean-Paul Buongiorno accompanied by percussionist Alexey Berlind and upright bassist Aaron Germain. Vocalist Raquel also performs beautiful bossa nova and jazz songs with the band when we perform as a quartet (please see our video clips for samples of both the trio and quartet). Jean-Paul also performs solo guitar pieces for ceremonies. Our travels in Spain, Italy, Brazil and Cuba bring depth and authenticity to superb performances. The music is flavorful and lively, quiet enough to blend into the conversation or loud enough to heat up the party.

The musicians in the ensemble are experienced and schooled performers who bring a high level of talent and passion to the music. A horn or an additional guitar can be added to the group if the event requires. More video samples of the band are available on request. The ensemble currently performs at private events, weddings, and select venues in the greater Bay Area and the wine country, including the Westin St. Francis and the Ritz Carleton of San Francisco, The Kunde Estate and B.R. Cohn wineries of Sonoma, and gala events at the Macy's flagship store on Union Square. Jean-Paul, Aaron, Alexey and Raquel have performed nationally and internationally at world music and jazz venues,festivals and cruise ships and can be seen in concert all over the greater Bay area.

The band is available at a discount for charities and non-profit organizations.
