Karina Carmen Velasco was born in Madrid, Spain and currently resides in Southern California. She is a performance artist and an award winning dancer, choreographer and artistic director. With a vast performance history, some of her career highlights include The Kodak Theater in Hollywood, The Los Angeles Theater Center, The Presidio San Diego, Zion Arts Council...Her career spans traditional and contemporary Flamenco, Opera and Classical Theater. She has been commissioned and is recognized by the Consul General of Spain, the Mayor of Los Angeles, the Historic Society of Chula Vista, CA, the Historic Society of San Clemente, CA, the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works, Zion Arts Counsel to name some. Along with her theatrical performances, her university tours include the UCI Trevor School of Dance, and numerous, schools, colleges and universities through out the United States. She has also performed at all of the best "Flamenco Tablaos" or Flamenco performance dinner show restaurants on the West Coast. She has taught at many studios, schools, colleges and universities. Her career has spanned collaborations with artists from around the World and she has worked in all mediums from stage to film and performance art collaborations. Cuatro Caminos was founded in 2004 by Karina Carmen Velasco and has been providing the highest level performances in California and the U.S. Specializing in Spanish Flamenco. The company has also expanded through creative collaborations and Karina's musicology experience to include some of the finest World Arts & Culture from a diverse group of countries. Their reputation for fine performances and professionalism garnered Artistic Director an Out Standing Artist Award in 2008 in Los Angeles.
