Amor Do Samba
Amor Do Samba consists of over 12 experienced dancers with a variety of dance styles and backgrounds. Since Amor do Samba is heavily rooted and active in the San Francisco Afro-Latino and Brazilian music community, Amor Do Samba is privileged to perform along side multiple brazilian percussion groups, and talented bands including Bossa Nova, Samba, Samba Reggae, Afro-Peruvian, Cumbia, Salsa, Reggae, and Funk. Tanilee Amor
Tanilee Amor is a performing artist entrepreneur, founder & artistic director of Amor Do Samba Entertainment, a San Francisco Entertainment company established in 2011. Tanilee studied dance at UCLA with a specialization in Afro - Latin dance and art as a social change agent. She has studied Afro-Latin dance in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Belize. After performing and training under bay area Brazilian and Peruvian dance companies, Tanilee started Amor Do Samba. Tanilee holds a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA and Masters in Public Administration and International Management from the Monterey Institute of International studies, a school of Middlebury.
Collaborations
In addition to managing Amor Do Samba, Tanilee currently performs with Yabas Dance Company under the artistic direction of Dandha Da Hora, a native of Brazil and leader of Afro-Brazilian music and performance in the United States, lead singer of Sambada. Tanilee also performs for Jambalaya under the artistic direction and management of Paulie Paul, native Jamaican and Laura Gilbert Costa, dance choreographer. Tanilee spent the summer of 2011 in Mexico performing with Origines Compania, a Caribbean Dance company, lead by Cuban born, Ernesto Ramoz Ganzalez.
