Scott and Alan first performed together in 2005, and began playing duo concerts together in 2007. In the following years they were invited to perform at the Instituto de Bellas Artes of Chihuahua, Mexico, Bill Gaither's Fall Family Festival in Indiana, the Maranatha Bible Conference in Michigan, Word of Life campuses in New York and Florida, and the Crystal Cathedral in California, in addition to many concerts in the Chicago area where they currently reside. In 2013 they began pursuing concerts full-time performing as Captivating Keyboards under their new non-profit Get Out of Your Boat Ministries. They enjoy blessing their audiences with unique musical arrangements, creatively combined into entertaining presentations.

The purpose of Get Out of Your Boat Ministries is to provide creative and engaging concert experiences to audiences everywhere, regardless of financial means. Through our interactive musical productions we seek to improve lives by bringing joy through emotional and spiritual healing. We will encourage our audiences to inspire others as they have been inspired. Captivating Keyboards, the founding artists of Get Out of Your Boat Ministries, performs with the goal of spreading joy to all ages with many musical styles.
Alan C. Tripp, a native of Clearwater, Florida, began studying piano at age 9 under the tutelage of his grandmother, and by age 14 he was presenting full piano concerts. After studying privately with a concert pianist and also at St Petersburg College, he went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Alan has spent much of his time as a self-employed concert pianist, performing in Canada, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, France, Ireland, Morocco, and throughout the U.S. including Alaska. He has served as pianist for the King's Brass, and accompanies gospel singer Larry Ford in international concerts. Alan is also a speaker and performer at Tourette Syndrome conferences. His music emphasizes improvisation, creativity and joy. While performing Classical, Jazz and Sacred styles, he enjoys combining his piano talent with comedy and motivational speaking in order to share God's blessing of music.
Scott J. Griffin, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, has been playing the piano as long as anyone can remember. Scott was an active participant in many piano festivals, contests and recitals, receiving a number of awards at the regional and national levels. After graduating from the Moody Bible Institute as a piano performance major, he was Pianist and Music Ministry Coordinator for The Moody Church in Chicago from 2004–2013. Scott has toured in China, Romania, Hungary, Norway, Sweden, Spain, France, Morocco, and throughout the United States. He loves to arrange and improvise in all kinds of musical styles. In everything that he plays, Scott aims to communicate Christ's love, joy, purpose, and comfort through the gift of music.
